Massive Input secondary lag introduced with 0.4.0

This is in editor and build.

I move my head and tracking works, but there is a secondary motion that tries to catch up that is lagged horribly. Feels like the timewarp cam isn't staying in sync.

Anyone else seeing this?

I get this, too. When turning my head the tracking seems lazy and unpredictable and I can see the rendertexture's border and even another rendertexture at the back of my head (is this intended? :D ).

This does not seem unity related as I got this not every time. For example I get these problems in unity editor but after building it the problem is gone. Back to unity editor it is gone there, too.
One time simply plug of usb and back in seems to have fixed it.
Turning of timewarping, I ended up with a black screen, but seeing the tracker working correctly in editor view

I could not really isolate this yet.

I was getting issues with a black screen when turning off Timewarp too. For some reason it didn't give me any issues today. I'll try using Time machine again once I track down the ghost in the gyro.

This looks like an issue with the way we pass timestamps between threads for TimeWarp. Multi-camera rendering may make it worse. For now, I would recommend disabling TimeWarp if you see this issue. We are working on a fix.

TimeWarp is likely causing the "ghost in the gyro" effect you are seeing. Is everything working now that you turned it off, or are you still seeing a black screen sometimes?

I'm having a similar problem. The only differences are that it only does it when I move the rift (DK1) and it doesn't move as far as in the video. its like the sensitivity has been cranked up a bit and moves in random directions. Whats even stranger is that this only happens when I load another scene and re-enter the previous scene. It doesn't happen with TimeWarp turned off so its definitely something to do with TimeWarp.

The black screens are gone and I don't remember what I did to get rid of them. Maybe disabling DX11 or something. My builds are running fine on nVidia, but I'm getting lots of reports of black screens on AMD. If they force DX11 it works, but some of the shaders go pink.

I'm going to rebuild everything from scratch to see if I can isolate any culprits today. Its been a bit difficult since I'm also running a kickstarter for my builds at the same time. Crazy days for sure.

    hi all,

had this problem initially as well. first black screen then blurry vertical line(s) when running the unity tuscany demo. here is what I did:

    - disabled directx11 -> initially to fix black screen which worked, but did not resolve blurry lines
    - updated unity to version 4.5.2p2
    - disabled Timewarp - this caused awful juddering
    - left timewarp disabled but re-enabled directx11->then built. set Rift to Direct display mode and ran the directtorift.exe

absolutely perfect, just as good as the non-unity demo world tracking. i could chase vr butterflies around all day but then would likely begin to struggle with some serious philosophical and existential questions...

I got the "ghost in the gyro" aka timewarp bug a few times today. Closing unity and starting it again seems to fix it every time now. Still no picture when turning off timewarp.

Your steps were very helpful. For me it now boils down to these scenarios:

    - If I disable TimeWarp, I have to switch Unity to DX11 mode (or my standalone builds show a black screen). This causes play-in-editor to always show a black screen. And a standalone build takes several starts before it shows the game. But once it fires up, a standalone build looks great and has silky smooth performance.
    - If I enable TimeWarp, I can play in editor fine, but my standalone build suffers from terrible framerate (or some kind of judder / double render issue, possibly what others have mentioned in various threads). I've tried fixing this by disabling Mirroring, but that doesn't help matters at all.

Ideally: I would like to be able to run with Timewarp, with good performance, in editor and in a standalone build.
