Step by step guide to Unity integration?

I am pretty new to Unity and the Oculus SDK did not tell me much. Are there someone who could make a step by step guide how to integrate the Oculus SDK to Unity? :)

I'm trying to write a litte game in which I need the crosshair. When I press C, I can see the crosshair, but also the menu -.- How can I display this crosshair on startup without the menu?

Is there any reason why i should use the built in crosshair? It seams to be just an image in the middle of the screen. No options like in TF2...that would be nice ;)

The default crosshair probably won't work since it's just 2D. While sometimes this can be acceptable, in most cases it will cause the player to focus their eyes too close to the screen and cause eye-strain. Ideally you want the crosshair to be in 3D, and to converge at the depth of the object is it over.

    1) Open Unity and create a new project and a new scene (or open the project you wish to add Rift support to).
    2) From the top menu, under "Assets" choose "Import Package" -> "Custom Package"
    3) Find the 'OculusUnityIntegration' folder you should have extracted from the 'ovr_unity_0.2.1_lib.zip' download file.
    4) Click on the 'OculusUnityIntegration.unitypackage' and click 'Open'.
    5) In the Project menu click the down arrows next to 'Assets' then 'OVR' then click "Prefabs'.
    6) In the window drag the 'OVRPlayerController' into the Scene view.
    7) If this is a new scene you may want to create a floor first and add some objects so you can see whats going on.
    8) Reposition the 'OVRPlayerController' into a good place in the scene, above the floor and not colliding with anything.
    9) Drag the 'Game' window onto the Rift screen (if in extended desktop mode) and click the small square next to the 'x' on the top-right.
    10) Click 'Play'.
    11) Have fun!

Personally, I think that this post should be constantly at the top of this topic, because every time I set up a project, I have to find this to start it! :)

    Hi,

one idea i had is to use the Oculus Crosshair with the Ngui.
    Like this:
Take the Ngui and "place" it in the Hierarchy under the CameraRight

Now it would be great if the Crosshair, that allready exist in OVRMainMenu, can select and click the Ngui.
My problem is, that my programming experience is not that great to find the solution in a fast way...
i was thinking about a class, that defines a ..."bridge" between the OVRMainMenu and Ngui..
in Detail: a class that replicates with the Crosshair the Events triggered originaly by Ngui cursor.
(does this sentence make any sense? My english is not that good XD)

I hope there will be some one who can help me with that? I tried to search the forum for that solution..nothing found.
I tried to ask a Question..but can´t because i am new to the Forum...so eventually i post this to other Toppics related to GUI(Ngui) and Oculus and Unity too.

If someone allready have a solution, please, share it with us.

    Thank you and Greetings!
