Quick Help for Rift in UDK Game

Just installed the UDK download.

Quickstart guide: Edit C:\UDK\UDK-2013-03\UDKGame\Config\UDKEngine.ini

look for:
[Engine.Stereo3D]
bEnabled=False

change :
bEnabled=True

It will work on your rift and knock your socks off!!!

I'm sure there are actual directions and tutorials coming but this could save some people time and frustration.

    @dbuck, thanks for the tips!

    DynamicShadows=False did fix the FoliageMap demo for me. Looks great now. I can also confirm that < 60fps makes me sick. I had to change ScreenPercentage from 200 to 150 to get back to 60fps. I didn't notice a difference in image quality.

    I'm now running:
    UDKEngine.ini
    [Engine.Stereo3D]
    bEnabled=True
    [Engine.Oculus]
    bEnableHud=False

    UDKSystemSetting.ini
    ScreenPercentage=150.000000
    ResY=800
    DynamicShadows=False

    Flying around in LSMobile_Castle is really an amazing experience!

    Also, maybe some of you missed this.

    To play the UDK game on a Rift you should press "Start this level on the PC", which is the icon that looks like a green arrow on top of an LCD monitor. Then when the game loads up, press F11 and it will switch into Rift mode and target the Rift screen. This will only work if you actually have a Rift connected.

    Ze "F11" ze do nothing!

    Also, any steps on how to integrate this into UE3 or UE4? UDK is nice, but I need to understand how to add oculus support to an existing Unreal Environment.

    The integration guide should mostly apply to UE3 as well. I don't have any information regarding UE4.

    Does anything happen when you press "F11"? It should go full-screen on the Rift and turn into 3D.

    Nothing happens at all. The window is already in 3D mode but doesn't move to the rift or go full screen

    Did you mess with the key-bindings at all? Maybe something got messed up.

    Otherwise, I am not sure what the problem could be. I guess in the worst case you could re-install.

    Its a fresh install. Hitting Alt+Enter worked though.

    The stereo command is not recognized, but my Rift is connected and works in the Tuscany demo (which is turned off when I try to run the special UDK version) What do I check first?

    Anyone know how to turn off the birds via config file, or at least get them to show up in both eyes?
