UE4 4.5.1 & 4.6.0 integrations with 0.4.4 SDK are published

Hey guys,

Just a notification that new integration is published at viewtopic.php?f=63&t=17714

UE 4.5.1: https://github.com/Oculus-VR/UnrealEngine/tree/4.5
UE 4.6.0: https://github.com/Oculus-VR/UnrealEngine/tree/4.6

The main new feature in 4.6.0 integration: we've added 'VR Preview' mode into the Editor that works the same way as 'New Editor Window' preview mode, but in stereo and in the Oculus Rift. We recommend to use Direct mode for that (Extend mode will limit refresh rate to 60Hz instead of 75, and this will be addressed later).

Oh, I should mention that a small annoyance with the new VR Preview session is that when you return back to the UE4 Editor, the Editor's window is no longer maximized (which is how I normally use it). I have to keep hitting the window's maximize button.

Hmm... This is weird. It does come back to maximize state for me. I'll try to repro the issue.

I am unable to repro it, neither in Direct nor in Extend modes.... Can you try to figure out exact steps to repro the issue?

sorry i'm a little confused. so to have any of the new VR improvements in ue4.6 we have to compile all this? why didn't it come in the original download a few days ago? will it show up in the launcher soon as like 4.6.1? thanks for any help.

Hi, im just reading up on the github process for the first time, usually only deal with the launcher, but after a couple of attempts im not seeing the new options and im not sure how to troubleshoot this process

I'll run through the steps I took, hopefully someone can tell me where i went wrong

    went to https://github.com/Oculus-VR/UnrealEngine/tree/4.6
    clicked releases and downloaded 4.6
also from the main page downloaded ovr_ue4_4.6.0_github_prereq_0.4.4.zip

    I extracted 4.6 and run the setup.bat
i then extracted ovr_ue4_4.6.0_github_prereq_0.4.4.zip to the folder
    then run the generateprojectfiles.bat

opened the ue4.sln in vs2013 express, changed the drop down option to develop editor and build the project

im then just running the ue4editor.exe in \UnrealEngine-4.6.0-release\Engine\Binaries\Win64
dk2 is in direct mode, 0.4.4 runtimes, but i don't see the preview in vr option on the list

Strange, it should be in the play options.

So there are no mistakes in the process I followed?

Seems ok to me, the only thing i did differently was forking the project on the GitHub webpage and then cloning using GitHub for Windows. Worked fine and i can use the new VR preview mode, although i doesn't perform very well..

ok that actually answered the question

the files im getting from the release page aren't the ones I need, using the download link on the front page works

I just finished building the engine from github with the patch that was listed. I can get head tracking in the editor window, but when I launch the VR preview mode or a stand alone game, I'm just getting a white screen. This is a first for me. Anyone else having this issue?

Same. It moves the perspective when previewing in viewport but preview-in-VR or standalone deployment does not work. The Window frame does not update and remains black (or 'captures' every other window you drag in front of it). The DK2 isn't fed an image at all and the led remains orange. The 0.4.4 Tuscany Demo works perfectly.
