UE4 + Mobile + Audio SDK 1.0.0 ?

I am not quite sure how it works with UE4, but do I need Mobile SDK 1.0.0 and Audio SDK 1.0.0 to build Gear VR projects with UE4 ?

UE4 docs don't go into much of the details, so it's not quite clear what's needed and how to get it working with UE4 :/

UE 4.10 preview4 is what I am talking about.

Thanks.

No. I don't believe you do. The mobile SDK is for native apps or Unity 4. For Unity 5 you can use the Oculus Utilities, and I think for Unreal 4 it's built-in. See the Epic docs: https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/IN ... index.html

Yep, been there. It doesn't say what exactly UE4 does and doesn't support for Gear VR :(

So I figured Oculus would have a better idea what's in (will be in by release) UE 4.10 :)

No, you don't need to use mobile SDK 1.0 or audio SDK 1.0 with Unreal. Actually, the latest version from Github still uses mobile SDK 0.6.2 and audio SDK 0.11.3 (which is off by default). 1.0 support for both SDKs will be available before too long, but the changes shouldn't significantly affect your app if you get started today with 4.10 from our Github repo at https://github.com/Oculus-VR/UnrealEngine.

Thx Dave. I just wanted to experiment with spatialized sounds (including performance wise).

Is there any way Oculus can influence Epic to get both current SDKs into next patch/preview/release and have spatialized audio togglable without a need to recompile engine ? ;)

To get a meaningful comparison, you should probably enable/disable the OculusAudio plugin in your uproject before cooking. See viewtopic.php?f=60&t=25702#p291550 for details.
