Building GestureMancer King β€” hands-first VR mind-game magic duels (no controllers, same-turn RPS)

Hey Start community πŸ‘‹

I’m a Meta VR Start member building **GestureMancer King** β€” a **pure hand-gesture** VR/MR magic battler for Quest / Meta VR.

## Controllers are not optional
This is a **hands-only** game. No controller fallback. If hand tracking fails, the spell fails. That is intentional: the whole fantasy is casting with your real hands.

## The idea
Most VR competition still rewards reaction speed or movement skill. I wanted something closer to **rock-paper-scissors**:

- **Same-turn commits** β€” everyone acts together, then rules resolve
- **Prediction over twitch** β€” you win by reading the opponent, not by who aims faster
- **Seated / fair** β€” small play space, less motion sickness
- **VR + MR** β€” same rules in a virtual arena or your real room
- **A different lane** β€” not FPS, not rhythm, not movement physics games

One line: spellcasters charge qi, pick magics with gestures, and out-guess each other like RPS β€” but with a deeper spell web.

## Where I am now
Gesture β†’ magic casting, collision rules, AI, and multiplayer rounds are in progress. I’m preparing an update for the Start Developer Competition as an **Adapted / Significantly Updated** entry.

## Feedback I’m looking for
1. **Are the magic gesture triggers too hard?** Β
Β  Β Too strict / too easy to misfire / unclear which pose casts which spell?
2. **Volunteer playtesters** for multiplayer: Β
Β  Β - 1v1 Β
Β  Β - **2v2** Β
Β  Β - **3v3 ranked-style** sessions Β

If you’re interested in testing, comment or DM me. I can share an invite build when ready.

Thanks β€” would love honest feedback from people who actually put the headset on.
