Meta Quest build v63 release notes

These features and enhancements will become available starting the week of March 5, 2024 and will be pushed to Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 2 headsets. Please note that you can find the most up to date release notes on our release notes article and you can check out our v63 blog as well for more details.

Quest Cash

We’re expanding our payment method offerings with Quest Cash, Meta Quest Store credit that you can use to buy or gift Store content. 


Lying down (Quest 2 and Quest Pro only)

We’ve added a new feature that allows you to use your Quest 2 or Quest Pro headset while lying down. Kick back, relax and recline for casual experiences including media playback and stationary immersive gaming. You can enable this feature by going to Experimental in Settings and selecting the toggle next to Use Apps While Lying Down.  


Once enabled, you can use this feature by laying down and then pressing and holding the Meta or Oculus Menu button to reset your view.

    Can anyone tell me the exact verison number is ? It seems like my Quest 3 updated last night, although i already had opted in for PTC, i got all kinds of weird stuff happening. Opted out, nothing happened. Factory reset my headset. Headset still on V63. I guess everything is working OK, but i have a feeling  like its stuck at the PTC V63 and not the official release. I have constant issue with my appdrawer crashing whenever i click on it. In that i have to open it once, crash, then again.

    This was never the case with v62.

      S1MONSAYS  I'll let you know my v63 version is final when I get.  In the meantime I sggest you should disable meta quest beta, then wait for V64.  Trying to jump the que with beta-anything is not always a good idea for most imho.

          with V63 there is no more access eg with x-plore app to Android/data and Android/obb?

          I got the v63 vor some days now and since yesterday I got a wifi drop every 5 to 10 minutes. It is on both of my accesspoints. My other 2 devices with v62 don't have that droppings. It is a Fritzbox and an Asus router. I don't know if my wifi is broken or there was an additional update causing these troubles.

          Good news I turned on my headset for a couple minutes to check if it would download the v63 update and it can't!! I am never going to let it. (Today was when it was to be pushed out regardless if you turned it off in settings). But I disabled the service and its ability to connect to the internet!

          Massacher  Did you actually get v63 non-beta, or just PTC?  Just asking because I haven't seen this yet on my Q3 or QPro, or meta-link PC app yet.  Thanks mate.

          No I haven't got v63 at all. Not PTC or live.

            Massacher  Thanks, maybe the final v63 release has been delayed for some reason.

            I don't know if it has. But I've disabled updates so it can't get any.
