Meta Quest mobile app is getting a new name and look

We’ve been making our mobile app better so you can explore experiences easier than ever, right from your phone.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Dynamic self-expression: Easily refresh your avatar with regularly updated personalization options directly in the mobile app.
  • Explore worlds from your phone: Now you can jump right into new experiences from your mobile app, making it easier to connect with friends over music, games and everything you love.
  • Light mode: Introducing Light mode on the mobile app gives you a more accessible, comfortable and customizable viewing experience. You can update your look anytime from the settings menu in the app.

Don’t worry, we aren’t removing any features or functionality from the current app. You can still manage your headset and browse 500+ mixed reality apps and games from the Meta Horizon mobile app.

You may need to update your app from your mobile app store, on Android and iOS, to see the latest updates.

Visit https://www.meta.com/blog/quest/horizon-mobile-app/ and our Help Center for more details.

So, debug/dev mode now has a slightly different path to turn on now.

Same as accessing the refer a friend codes.

I know just enough about tech to look like I know what I'm doing.

Horrible app and the most horrible thing about it is that it does not work in landscape mode on the iPad! Meta developers are disregarding the most basic design principle for the iPad! Even though many many people complained about this Meta, doesn’t give a **bleep**! Total idiots!

This app has serious flaws, and they haven't been fixed in the new version. It's incomprehensible. How is it possible that when I access my library of images and videos, there's no option to delete them? And if I want to share them with other networks or download them to my phone, it takes an eternity, and often it takes so long that it's impossible to transfer anything even with wifi. Incomprehensible. It's also incomprehensible that once a game is uninstalled from the headset, it doesn't disappear. It feels like Meta does things halfway, and there's no willingness to fix essential issues like these. Incomprehensible.

Sad 😞 why can't meta quests mobile app just be used as a companion for the headset, why did it have to become off brand Roblox with a finicky menu UI 😔😔😔😔

    Maybe a bit O.T. But..

Why the hell does one have to have a mobile phone in order to even setup/use the Quest on a PC.?

Still using the CV1 'cause Meta won't let me use a perfectly stable ethernet connection to setup their q2 or q3 goggles!

No reliable mobile service here and very unreliable wifi but a perfectly good 50 megabit/sec ethernet...and in this day and age Meta still require purchasers to have a mobile phone? Get up to date Meta. This is nearly 2025!!
