PTC v62 Release Thread

Thanks everyone for all your feedback on our previous builds, several bugs were identified in PTC v60 and the solutions for some have shipped, while others are on the way!

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v62 is starting to roll out soon for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 3.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v62 jump on over to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v62" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v62 issues too.

It's best if you can post each bug you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions and let us know if you see any issues. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

I updated to v62 today and started to get the debris-water warning message for the first time after the update.

Before the update, everything was fine. The cable was plugged in before and after the update. I even used the headset today with the old version without any errors. After the update has finished and I rebooted the headset, I got the message after a few seconds.

I have connected the headset to my PC via USB-C cable, and every now and then I'm getting this message.  It can take up to 20 minutes to show up again after clicking "OK".

Debris warning is no doubt a software bug of v62 that many Q3 are going to experience now that v62 is being distributed and once again Meta is ignoring the issue.

I can only say that i have the debris and water warning on V60 as well and that is only when my powerbank reaches 0%. Still no V62 available on my quest 3

I'm not using a powerbank and can confirm that it's related to v62. It even happens when I'm charging it with the official charger without PCVR.

But it's definitely a false positive.

Before the update I was using the headset and everything was fine.  The headset was running with v60 for about an hour, I haven't unplugged the cable, started the update to v62 and the error started immediately after the update was finished.

I have a quick question. I am enrolled into PTC and got the v62. However, I am missing some of its functionalities such as the spatial videos in the file app. The system version I am running is 498293700...., is it still the beta version of v62 please ? Ryanality

you will install the release version of v62 separate from the ptc version.  so if you're missing features check for software update

Most times I put my headset on at the moment (usually in passthrough) the Horizon Terrace environment flickers at an angle for a few seconds in my view.

Also every time I put the headset on the menu bar is always a few feet to the left and a few feet below the ground.

Version 62 is all broken. --MANY-- needed files are now installed into Library/com.meta...../Samples~ (Yes with a tilde in the filename)

Missing files are found in directories with a TILDE (~) directory, so they do not get installed into the Projects folder. Or installed. I have never been sure how the install process works.

App dictation broken, missing files and it looks if they changed the namespace to something else (still trying to figure that out).

AVOID 62 at all costs!
