PTC v63 Release Thread

Thanks everyone for all your feedback on our previous builds, several bugs were identified in PTC v62 and the solutions for some have shipped, while others are on the way!

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v63 is starting to roll out soon for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 3.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v63 jump on over to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v63" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v63 issues too.

It's best if you can post each bug you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions and let us know if you see any issues. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

MrBIO The game calls for the oculusvr api during launch. There is something wrong with the api on v63, because it works normally on v62.

i I don't get it. I have been in the test channel since it started. And Can't find any of the new features and I don't think they're working because I don't see anything new and why does this happen? Quest, please fix my new updates so that they work correctly because I don't even see them. I don't know where they are. are there release notes?

Skuva So you're talking about PTC on the meta quest link pc app?

Sphar-Kee There are no PTC release notes. There are just the normal ones that come later. Eventually, you can find them here. You have to find new things or wait for somebody to find them.

I can confirm games such as DCS that use OpenXR fail to launch with v63. I also note that v63 is only installed on the Oculus PC app on my PC and not on the headset. Is this the problem? Incompatible build on PC and headset? If I turn off PTC on the Oculus PC app and revert it to v62, DCS launches normally.

I tried rolling back to Version 62 but some reason I'm stuck on V63. I factory reset and turn off PTC.

jimmie.312807 Have you tried using steamvr for dcs instead? They probably changed something in their API breaking other things. Maybe finally presence platform features?

MrBIO DCS works if I use SteamVR. This confirms the fault is with the Meta Quest Link OpenXR runtime.

PS. Steam VR for DCS is terrible. That's why I don't use it.

My QPro suddenly started switching itself off and/or losing charge and/or not charging properly.

Thought it was the battery going bad, but I noticed I'd been updated to v63 so I suspect it's a firmware/software issue.
