PTC v69 Release Thread

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v69 is starting to roll out soon for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, and Meta Quest 3.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v69:

1) For issues: Go to our
Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v69" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v69 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

Anonymous Haven't tried that. These settings popped up just a few minutes ago.

It was being worked on today, about missing experimental settings. MrBIO

Okay, so I have an explanation for the last Experimental setting. Microsoft just released their Windows app, which you can supposedly in the future use to stream your desktop to your headset. You need a work/school account to log in so if someone has that it'd be nice if you could test it out.

MrBIO I haven't received that experimental feature?

    August 31, 2024

    Did you receive it today?

    August 31, 2024

Microsoft Windows app is for streaming your desktop to your Meta Quest headset. This feature would allow you to access your Windows desktop and apps directly in VR, which could be really powerful for productivity and more.

The requirement for a work/school account to log in suggests that this feature might be focused on enterprise or business use cases, but it's still exciting to think about the possibilities for personal use as well.

If you or someone you know has access to a work/school account, testing this feature out could provide valuable feedback to Meta and Microsoft, and help shape the future of VR productivity tools!

That's all I got, I don't know if it important or helpful, or even true.

I'm seeing that helpful for my tech job 😆. I got a business email.

There isn't release note, even v68. So latest official OS version is still v67?

    tanubon  the v68 release notes were listed over a month ago;

I'm not sure why we've never seen a final v68 release thread.  Maybe because Meta is still working on it, or maybe because v69 final will be released very soon.  Who knows, lol!

We've got Meta Quest Support,  LordArceus send in a response to Jumpiestpants04

Hey again, Jumpiestpants04! No worries at all. Thanks for providing this!

On having a bit of time to reflect on the issue I know what has happened now!

Although we are on PTC V69, features for V67 and V68 are still being rolled out to Quest users. It would seem that this specific feature of the V67 update has just been rolled out to you now.

On going back and checking through the Quest Release Notes, I can see it states the following for the changes to Do Not Disturb:

"We’ve made a number of improvements to the Do Not Disturb setting. You can now select different durations for Do Not Disturb. You can turn this feature on from Quick settings. If you have Do Not Disturb turned on, you can also control this feature from Notifications."

Although this provides an explanation for the change I know it doesn't provide a solution for your specific VR needs. Please feel free to drop a suggestion on the Ideas Forum for a Do No Disturb setting that would fit your needs.
