PTC v72 Release Thread

Hey Everyone,

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Quest v72 is starting to roll out soon for Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating to PTC v72:

1) For issues: Go to our Get Help board and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v72" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for just PTC v72 issues too.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

PenguinInChicago Choleni TomCgcmfcThis is with PTC on, as I said before V72 was rolled back to PTC on Q3. Non PTC doesn't have the new version yet

If people would use PTC more often they would spot it faster. 😎 The logic is why did I got an update on PTC turned on

When it says created on the build, it means a new build (new update) was created on that date.

If the build says installed, it means you installed the new update on that date.

Reason why I got created because I did a factory reset.

Here Version V72 on the previous created date.

Hey guys Wondering if anybody else has had this experience or not. On the new Update of Ptc 72 If you hover over. Quest apps such as Browser, Meta, Horizon store, etcetera. It says not installed. But the apps are available in my app library and I can access and run them. The one glitch I have found so far With this is that in the quest browser, I can no longer access my computer via remote desktop. Which I was able to access without trouble previously.

But now when I try to load it, it appears to completely close the browser.

Has anyone seen such behavior?

wolfb1978 Had the same issue before, I factory reset to fixed it, but alot of people on here would frown upon the factory reset. Maybe they have other options or opinion.

wolfb1978 yep, same behavior here too, already send a bug report with a video some time ago ...

if you start the app, the icon becomes opaque like it should, if you restart the unexpected behavior will repeat ...

Don't be mislead... there is no "rollback"... Q2/3 are staying at v72, as Q1 does at v50 ðŸ˜‚

  • Q3: v72 - 5047332.12760.510 from 20.12. (former 5047332.12160.510 from 16.12.)
  • Q2: v72 - 5127210.8540.150 from 16.12.
  • Q1: v50 - 49845030443200410 from 19.10. (former 49845030399200410 from 17.4.)

And yeah, Link works perfect with Q1 and its superb OLED ðŸ˜Ž
(and works with all other Headsets of course!)

Maybe there is a chance, that they stopped rollout of v72 for new or "factory reset" devices.

Buetigame even though you still on V72, you can't even tell until you turned on PTC. Especially after factory reset, it shows the build was created on January 6th even though I installed on the 10th. Especially I'm still on V71 as well TomCgcmfc for our Q2. Still waiting for Q2 to release the V72. PTC is full for Q2.
