I got the latest updates for the PTC and the encoding issue still remains for me. Monitoring the effective client fps i can see major fluctuations at 90hz at various different bitrates. I used to be able to set it at 960Mbps with the official Link cable and it was completely stable

UPDATE: On 1/21, we identified an issue affecting Meta Horizon Link streaming performance (dropped frames, stuttering) and notified users. We've since identified the root cause and released a fix in the Horizon Link PC app update on 2/17 (v85.0.0.239.552). The issue has been resolved. Thank you for your patience.

Hi,

Thanks for all, it works great now. For other user, please make sure you have select meta horizon link for open XR mode in meta horizon link pc app. If you not do that, some game may be crash.

C'est tout simplement faux.

Les pertes d'images liées à l'encodeur se produisent TOUJOURS exactement de la même manière qu'avant la mise à jour. Aucune. Aucun gain de stabilité. Aucune réduction des pertes d'images. Rien.

Pour mettre les choses en contexte :

PC haut de gamme (RTX 4080, i7-13700KF)

Connexion stable à 2,5 Gbit/s

Aucun goulot d'étranglement du réseau

Aucun problème USB

Système propre

Pourtant, l'encodeur perd des images de manière aléatoire, ce qui provoque des saccades visibles en réalité virtuelle. Il ne s'agit pas d'un problème de performances côté PC, mais bien d'un problème logiciel au sein d'Horizon Link.

C'est extrêmement frustrant de voir une confirmation officielle qu'un problème est « résolu » alors que ce n'est manifestement pas le cas.

Veuillez cesser de clôturer les rapports prématurément et mener une enquête sur l'instabilité véritable de l'encodeur. Nombre d'entre nous utilisons la VR pour la simulation de cours et d'autres applications exigeantes ; la stabilité est donc essentielle.

Nous avons besoin de :

Reconnaître pleinement que le problème persiste

Communication transparente

Une vraie solution, pas des notes de patch qui ne reflètent pas la réalité.

Pour l'instant, on a l'impression que le problème est balayé d'un revers de main au lieu d'être résolu.

No peace agreement ends when it is signed if the massacre of a population continues, nor is a software failure solved with a written statement saying that it has been resolved. All working fine with both my QPro and Q3 headsets (Link and Air Link) using 750mbps Dynamic Bitrate. Nice to be able to see and use my VR hands in the Dashboard in the meta link home again.

One issue I've noticed is that you need to have selected Meta as your default openxr runtime in order to get Link, or Air Link, to startup properly. Previously this wasn't the case, and you just got a startup warning message if you didn't already have this selected. I've filed a bug report regarding this.

Its not fully resolved yet. I think Openxr has some sort of performance bugs too. Ea sports WRC is unplayable using Link cable if Openxr is defaulted to Meta link. Butter smooth if defaulted to steamvr and played through there. Alien rogue incursion is also smoother through steamvr openxr, but that one was trickier to test. Had to use smooth turning there, but i did find multiple repeatable scenarios where link stutters and steamvr did not. Note that im using link cable in both cases. So this may be a case where Openxr implementation also has some performance bugs.

Im using link cable always. 9800x3d, 64gb ram, windows 11, rtx 5080. Hardware accelerated gpu scheduling is on as its on by default and is needed to use Nvidia features.

Another thing i noticed that if i turn on my Xbox gamepad, i get really bad stutters in skyrimvr. But thats vanilla, non modded and doesnt use Openxr. So it might be a different thing. I just noticed that EA sports WRC is playable via Touch controllers as they emulate Xbox gamepad, so im wondering if the performance regression there is somehow related to that Touch gamepad emulation? As similar stutter appears in Skyrim vr if Xbox gamepad is turned on. Im still using Touch controllers to play, xbox pad is just on the table. Easiest to notice is to use smooth turning.

Definitely there still is some problem with link. In have the same experience in EA WRC, which disappears with VD. It seems like Meta just won't do anything. Maybe the announcement is that they solved something else, God knows there are many issues to be solved with this thing

BaldBOSS Before posing a bunch of useless error messages from your windows event app, maybe you should understand what the event viewer is actually all about, lol! I suggest you do a bit of google research, like maybe this YT vid to begin with;

The Event Viewer, Explained

The main thing to note is that for many of us, like myself, without any issues, overall performance is fine. If you are having issues I suggest you contact Meta Support including your log files and see if they can identify what may be causing your issues.
