Newest update (v85) made everything worse on my system...  EDIT: beta 201.0.0.73.547 runs better.

Welcome to the club, don't expect much from this bunch of cowboys.  They knew about this issue weeks ago, promised updates, provided none, and went ahead to release a new version of the link app without addressing the issue at all.  It's more than pathetic at this stage.

Why are you insulting cowboys 😎? They are brave people who take their job seriously... it reminds me more of children who get into mischief and try to blame others or stay silent hoping no one notices.🤣

Still with the problem. I have tried:

*Uninstall infamous windows update

*Install the "old reliable" Nvidia driver (from 2024!)

*Wipe Horizon Link (uninstall and delete user folders)

*Restore old backup of working game setup files (just in case)

*Mess around with all the link settings using debug tool (bitrate, encoder, etc)

*Try wired vs wireless, both have same problem

*Use ridiculously low game settings (would increase performance overhead but still stutters posted a photo in Reddit)

*Tested flat screen performance to verify baseline (Timespy), no changes

Nothing works, other than reinstalling the OS (which I wont do) or other extreme measures, I am fairly sure the problem was the latest Link update (the one after the networking fiasco). My meta link version is 85.0.0.232.552, for what is worth since I got many updates which didnt even changed the version number.

I’ve tried everything you did, plus I even formatted and reinstalled Windows from scratch. Don’t bother… it doesn’t change a thing.

The latest beta (201.0.0.73.547) solved all my problems with iRacing!!!
Finally 🙏🏻

Will have to wait for the "stable" version (extra large quotes).

Funny thing is that some people are complaining that precisely that update broke DCS... Meta.. you did it again!

Happy to report the PTC sorted my issues with Msfs 2024, I had to enable dynamic bitrate and disable ASW in the Oculus debugger.  Normally these settings were untouched with my set-up before but seems they need set to get the same good performance back.

Great! I noticed I always have to reset ASW everytime I power it off

Kbeau87  ASW resetting to Auto (= default) after restarts has always been the case.  Easy way to change this is to open the oculus debug tool and manually change it.  I make a shortcut and link it to my taskbar.

You can also make ASW changes on the fly buy using keyboard commands.  Ctrl+num 1-4 (numeric keyboard numbers, not top row numbers) can be used to make ASW changes on the fly.  Ctrl+num1 = ASW off, ctrl+num2 = forced 45fps (actually 1/2 whatever refresh rate you’ve already selected) and ASW off, ctrl+num3 = forced 45fps with ASW on, and ctrl+num4= ASW auto (default).

Some, including myself, use the oculus tray tool to set starting ASW and pixel density (super sampling).  Do a bit of googling to find out where you can still get this, since it has been unsupported for +2 years, and be prepared to learn how to use it properly.

Anyway, I hope this helps mate.  Cheers

Ok, this is kind of crazy.
Latency with official link cable is off the charts, what is going on here? Link latency has never been that good but this is just unplayable.
Its crazy that my crappy router gives me lower latency then a lighting fast USBc direct connect.

Can we get this fixed please?
And why are we still using h264 over link when VD lets us use all kind of different codecs? I've always used my link cable and steered clear of VD but they have really pulled ahead.

Please put some focus and effort into the PCVR side of things. Link and that debug tool basically in life support  mode

am extremely disappointed with the current state of PCVR.

It has now been over three weeks and PCVR is completely unplayable. Each new update does not fix the issue. The situation is getting worse.

This thread has more than 100 user messages and there has not been a single official response. That is unacceptable.

Many of us have invested a lot of money in the Meta ecosystem. I personally owned two Quest 2, two Quest 3 and one Quest Pro.

We deserve communication and confirmation that the issue is being investigated.

Right now it feels like PCVR users are being ignored.

If there is no clear communication or fix soon, I will reconsider staying in the Meta ecosystem and look at other options.

We need answers.

Hi, Since last week I had a lot of issues, but the worst I'm getting freezes during my vr sessions, I'm getting crazy, seems it's a usb disconection and lost of link... I test with two pcs and its the same, someone its having the same issue?

No Link issues for me with latest non-ptc v85 (headset and pc app) with either my QPro or Q3 using the official meta link cable.  If you are getting usb disconnections maybe check win11 device manager/all usb ports/properties/power savings and disable any usb power savings.  You may also want to try using a different usb3 port.

Also, run the meta link device usb speed test and make sure you are getting at least 2.2Gbps (preferably 2.4Gbps or better).  If not, maybe try a different usb3 cable.  Good luck mate and cheers.

Thanks mate! I removed all power savings, including bios power modes, disabled windows can switch off every usb, check on several ports, reinstalled meta link from zero, 2.5gbps in test, I’ve got disconnected link with kernel-pnp disconnection event in windows…and using the cable in other pc, the same, lost usb connection, but the error it’s a little bit different, I try to get it again in the second one, and change cable or get a usb pci… I don’t if anything can be done…

The issue is still not resolved, The link app will just infinitely load when I try to connect to my pc. It has been about 3 months since I last played pcvr. Meta please find a fix for this!

After several updates, signing up to the PTC and trying everything I could imagine, the problem is still there (stuttering and fame loss with high performance headroom).

Just for testing I got VD and of course it works without stuttering. I'll keep using VD for now (still prefer cabled link) and as soon as Steam frame comes out I'm out of this Meta waste of time and money...
