The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Horizon OS v2.3 has started to roll out.

Release Notes:  https://www.meta.com/help/quest/172903867975450/

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating:

1) For issues: Go to our Quest Forums and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v2.3" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for PTC issues.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

New version released, on Quest Pro :
    - get the new interface back (I like it a lot)
    - controllers get new firmware update : the tracking drift is drastically reduced AND it recalibrates itself more often (the drift was 10cm/4inches max, then breaking the headset/controller line of sight by bringing the controller in my back for let say four seconds then bringing back controller in front of the headset, the controller corrects the tracking drift way faster)

Played Half Life Alyx with the new non beta Virtual Desktop release for two hours : smooth experience

New Quest Pro version today, with quest pro controllers firmware update. Still some controller  small tracking drift but it auto correct itself quickly when bringing both controllers in front of the headset.

Running PTC v2.3.1034 on Quest Pro installed on 10 Apr. Does anyone else see really poor resolution in Air Link? It seems to be headset or codec streaming-side, rather than on the PC. The resolution setting in the Horizon Link app on the PC is set to full, but even changing the Pixel Density override in ODT doesn't change the quality of the image in the headset. Essentially I'm getting very high levels of compression artifacting on the stream to the headset. I can even set the streaming bandwidth in ODT to 1200Mbps without it seemingly affecting the quality of the streamed image. ODT performance overlay shows that it is set to 1200Mbps (which is way higher than it should be capable of!) but no benefit on the image (nor any degradation of the latency, which I would expect at this bandwidth!) Thanks.

New OS version installed on April 15th with new Quest Pro controller firmwares...
Early test are... impressive... the tracking is better than ever...
I can put my controller somewhere, get back to them, tracking show them at the exact right location. Zero tracking drift...
    I want to believe

Edit : while in Meta environment was perfect, launched Half Life Alyx with Virtual Desktop and got the small right controller tracking drift after a few minutes, which auto resolve when bringing the controller out of the headset line of sight and then bringing it back in the headset field of view... so no real improvement

Today the 22nd of April when I woke a new update was on my Quest 3 dated today. I need to try it out but it does not look different on the surface.

NicoEng A new OS update doesn't necessarily mean any changes to the UI Andy. You may have just got a new build number which sometimes means it's just fixing some bugs.

New update the 21st of April with new Quest Pro controller firmware: regression on the quality of the controller tracking, I have way more controller tracking drift than with the two previous versions.

Got the update to v2.3(.1034) build 5208318.3200.520 on my Q3, but this is the only "news" - no features like hidden hands, better passthrough or the new UI... and yes, I know... rolling out in waves bla, bla, bla. Meta Desktop App on PC didnt't even got an update to 2.1... sitting at v85(.0.0.239.552) and didn't work well. Even SteamLink (for SteamVR) works better than Metas and that's a shame.

So the only thing changed since v85 is the surface keyboard... or maybe it's gone?
Have to stop now, looking for this single feature if it survived the update 🤭

I'm on the same build number... and somehow... HORIZON FEED opened up (it's supposed to have been deprecated) 🤭.

Controllers forced updated and broken again on quest pro even though all the toggles for updating and ptc were off. I hate this company

My Pro controllers are working better than ever with the latest non-beta v2.3 update.  Sorry, but I'm not sure why you are having issues?  Maybe try making sure you have good room lighting, redo your boundaries, and reset any experimental options.  Otherwise, contact Meta Support I guess.  Cheers.

Got a "big" update for Meta Quest Link today... from 85.0.0.232.552 to 85.0.0.232.552.
No joke - 8 steps update to result in the same (!) software version.
    What's up with you, Meta?

I'm on the retail channel and as said before: no "modern" UI on the quests, which could be a good thing, maybe 😁 But v2.3 (.1034) and remareble ZERO Features with it? And please, don't come up with the "wave" thing.
