v2.4 PTC Release Thread

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Horizon OS v2.4 has started to roll out.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating:

1) For issues: Go to our Quest Forums and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v2.4" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for PTC issues.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

We know it's tough when you run into a problem on a PTC build and want to thank you all again for testing out PTC and sharing your feedback! This feedback is extremely helpful to our engineering teams. We appreciate your interest and persistence in testing out the core functionality of software as we develop!

    Broke my OpenXR app. Hand tracking no longer works properly. I touched nothing in my app, the only thing that changed was this update. I rely on my app for work and now guess what I'm not using today? Thanks Meta.

    Bluewave41​ Coincidentally I got the official version on v2.4.1034 today. I just tested my app and hand tracking is working fine. I thought, as you were on PTC that you would have the finished version by now, though sometimes they continue testing after a stable version is released. However, PTC is test software, you should be reporting it through the bug reporting tool on the headset, not here. Hopefully when you get the update it will be fixed.. If you are not happy with test software affecting your experience you should not be on PTC and then complain about it when you find bugs. It's the whole purpose of public test software.. I advise that you leave PTC if you want a stable environment.

      I'm not on PTC, I didn't post this in the PTC thread I posted it in 

      Navigator Now Rolling Out to All Quest Users | Meta Community Forums - 1371393 as it's for all users but they've for some reason decided it should be here.

      Hand tracking when powered by the Meta Aim Hand OpenXR feature does not work. I've had friends test this. Even the built in Unity sample no longer works. I don't want to run my own custom hand tracker nor rely on the core OpenXR powered one as it's thresholds are horrible.

      It looks like new preview firmware v2.5 has been out for a few days.  Can we expect a dedicated v2.5 PTC thread?

          For the love of everything good, please get rid of the system menu hum noise. I want to be playing a VR game and be able to bring up a Quest window while I"m playing without a constant hum.

          I want to be able to use hand tracking without accidentally triggering the menu hum sound.

          If we never had a menu hum sound, I would be ecstatic.

          Also, it would be great if the OS didn't automatically recenter my view -ever-. We have a recenter button, and we know how to use it. Every other time you recenter our view without us asking for it works against what I want.

            I know v2.4 is now out of PTC, but I'd like to report that in the official release v2.4 build 

            5216847.4360.520, it seems that the devs neglected to disable/hide "ImGui" from the hand tracking "expanded quick actions" menu. Others have reported the same issue on Reddit here:

              hello! what should I do if the VR helmet on this firmware loads indefinitely, and if I try to change the slot, it displays an error with exclamation marks
