v2.5 PTC Release Thread

The Public Test Channel (PTC) for Horizon OS v2.5 has started to roll out.

If you're seeing an issue or bug after updating:

1) For issues: Go to our Quest Forums and search for any existing thread on the issue, if you don't find one, make a new thread. Please add the tag "PTC v2.5" to the thread and in the title. This way everyone can look for PTC issues.

2) For bugs: If you come across a bug, please post each one you spot in its own thread, to keep track of individual issues separately. Please make sure to also send in bug reports along with posting on the forums if you notice anything going wrong.

Share your impressions in the comments below and let us know if you see any issues.

      We're seeing an issue on Meta v2.5 (205.0.0.3.1674) where holding the Meta button to recenter the view stops working a few seconds after launching an app or dismissing the DUI. It affects both Quest 3 and Quest 3S in controller mode.

      The only workaround we've found is bringing up the DUI and dismissing it. This restores recentering briefly before it stops working again. This does not repro on 85.0.0.200.1707, so it appears to be a regression in v2.5.

        I have had a bug with the sound of the guardian for months and I've never reported it. Before PTC v2.5 Usually after exiting games, entering games, or waking the headset up from sleep would play any 1 of the guardian sounds for the whole entire time even in immerse apps until I clicked adjust roomscale and clicked the back button then would it stop the sound. But now in PTC v2.5 it still happens where the guardian sound plays but it does not stop no matter what forcing me to restart my headset to stop the sound. Hopefully this bug can get patched in the next build since it has been the biggest annoyance for a while now.

          Have you tried if deleting and redrawing your boundary can fix that? It does it for other users.

            I just got v2 5 and the 6ghz connection works on startup. If I charge or start a different app after closing the first wifi does not connect properly even though settings says it is. This did not happen with v2.4.

                There was another 2.5 update today the 9th but it is a little late for me to properly test out

                    The wifi issues with 6ghz are still there. I do like the 3D effect on pictures and videos saved on the headset though.

                    I have noticed that pressing the Meta button to re-center on the quest 3 only works in the first few seconds after that nothing happens not even the overlay appears.

                    On the latest version of the PTC 2.5 and still do not have App sorting etc ?

                    Just got another v2.5 1.38g update this morning. Going to test it out today to see if the wifi and re-center problems still exist.

                    It seems the re-center via the Meta button works as expected but a 6ghz connection is still a problem for the second app as I said above but 5ghz is fine.

                    Major issue since updating to 2.5 1034 on June 19. Minutes into any game or app there is a sound and the controllers appear and the only action I can take is to press the meta button. When I do that it takes me back to loft/passthrough and quits the game. I don't know what triggers it but it makes my Quest completely unusable at the moment. Never seen a similar issue.

                      More detail: Build 5227074.2840.520. v2.5.1034. Meta Quest 3 standalone. Tried multiple games with same issue. Tried clearing boundary. Can't play anything. Needs a quick and urgent fix.

                      Good to know. Did you report it through the bug reporting tool on the headset? Hopefully there'll be a fix soon.
