Wi-Fi Connectivity Issue on Meta Quest 2 After the Horizon v2.6 Update

We're aware that some Quest 2 users are unable to connect to Wi-Fi after updating to Horizon v2.6. We've identified the cause, and a fix is now available.

To download the fix, temporarily connect your Quest 2 to a mobile hotspot and follow the steps below.

Before you begin: Using a mobile hotspot may use data from your mobile plan and could result in additional charges. Check your mobile plan before proceeding.

Steps:

  1. Turn on the mobile hotspot on your phone. Need help? See instructions for iPhone or Android.
  2. On your Quest 2, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and connect to the mobile hotspot.
  3. Confirm that your headset is connected to the internet.
  4. Go to Settings > General > Software Update. For more help, see how to update your Meta Quest software.
  5. Check for the latest software update (v2.6 build dated July 24, 2026 or later).
  6. Apply the update.
  7. Your headset will restart and install the new software. This may take a few minutes.
  8. Once the update is complete, go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  9. Select the Wi-Fi network you were previously connected to.
  10. Confirm that your headset connects successfully to your Wi-Fi network.

Thank you for your patience and for being part of the Meta community.

Does anyone know if there is a customer service phone number where I can contact them about this issue?  This is ridiculous. Troubleshooting and and it does not work.  There should be more support than this. If you cause the problem about updating it then fix it

Meta won't see your messages here unfortunately. We're all just users here.

I don't know of any phone number but here is a link to 3 options to talk to a human support person at Meta rather than an AI.

Try the WhatsApp option first, it seems to be the quickest. Good luck with it. https://www.meta.com/en-gb/help/support/?g1=5960237440706837&g2=26500769372871399&g3=none&et=none&sg=skip

costofbread There are no Meta staff here, no Meta moderators, no Meta community managers, no Facebook staff, no WhatsApp staff, no Instagram staff.. This forum is a user only forum dedicated to troubleshooting Quest VR headsets. We have no access to accounts. I think the illustration below is self explanatory. The only thing we can offer is this link which you might have tried already.  Unfortunately as users only we can do no more.

This is the wrong thread. Search the forum for a solution or start a new thread and explain exactly what your situation is as your comment explains nothing. Also, the forum psychics who can read minds are all on holiday at the moment.
