Uninstalling Windows Security Update KB5074109 solved the performance issues I was having with AirLink. I could finally get stable performance by increasing my encode bitrate from 75 Mbps back to the default 200 Mbps. I haven't tested cable Link.

It helps Meta diagnose the problem, so then they can fix Link to make it compatible with the security update.
I use Windows 10 and I don't have that update installed, so in my case, that's not the problem.
How about you learn to quality control test your software before releasing it? The latest updates have deteriorated the performance of the Quest 3 dramatically and no, I am not having USB performance issues.
They try to help with a quick fix for the connection problems - and the did.
A full quality control for this would be an illusion... so don't mind them.

The latest update has nothing to do with the problem. People have removed the update to only find that the performance issues remain. Blaming the update is a poor gesture on Meta's part to a not fix a QC issue with the last Link update. Even sideloading the firmware to an older version does not fix the issue, so this is entirely a Link issue.
QC'ing software is not an illusion when you are a multi-million dollar company. If they refuse to do such testing, maybe they should exit the VR/AR business and leave it to more competent companies like HTC and HP.
I assume this new issue was introduced with the previous fix they applied for the desktop load hang. I'm getting 0-15fps where I used to get 80fps so I hope this is resolved quickly.
With the V81, I could use 960 Mbps with a cable link without latency causing stuttering. Now it causes slight stuttering even at 100 Mbps. It's like losing the headset and going back years. The inability to downgrade the firmware makes these situations frustrating and a reason to look for a solution in a headset with DisplayPort (if there were any decent ones at a good price) or a standalone system with control over the software. I hope Meta doesn't ruin great hardware because of its software.

Have we an ETA for a fix, or any updates? Some of us are unable to use our headsets with PC at all as we rely on a link cable to connect, where connecting wirelessly using a 3rd party app isn't an option. J'avais très peu de framedrop en 90 Hertz énormément en 72 et 80 depuis plus d'un an donc j'avais pris l'habitude de jouer en 90. depuis la mise à jour impossible de jouer en 80 90 j'ai dû redescendre 72 et même comme cela les frames drop sont énormes c'est tout simplement injouable. Il faudrait vraiment que meta comprenne que le marché du pcvr est important pour les joueurs
j'ai l'impression que le pc vr est surtout fait pour tester la bureautique plutot que pour les gamers
mais j'avoue que apres la v74 ( version au top niveau perf in game ) ils sont parti dans tous les sens chez meta mais la v83 et la v85 sont de tres loin les pires versions. ce que je comprend pas c'est que la v81 a ete correctement corrigé et que le lendemin de cette belle maj ils nous ont mis la v83 officielle alors quelle etait encore en test et completement buggué. vraiment incomprehensible

i have an i9 12900kf, 4090rtx, 96Go ddr5 ram, cable link on usb 3.2 ( 2.8Gbps bandwidth usb test )
i play pcvr with cable link at 90hz and 900mbps encoding bitrate and in the performance HUD screen set to oculus link i see the encoding frame rate isn't to 90hz but oscillate into 75, 80hz.
at 72, 80, 90, 120hz encoding frame rate oscillates in the same way
I don't use dynamic bitrate encoding.
I also disable ASW and adaptive GPU performance scale because I lose a lot of FPS when they are enabled.
I have to enable sliced encoding to reduce the problem, whereas normally I turn it off and everything works fine.
in v81, I didn't have this problem, everything was working fine.

How META can even RELEASE a new firmware version WITHOUT FIXING the latest final version public release, in this case was v83 final version released, the beta v83 was for nothing? because all the problems are in the final version, and the worst part, they already release a v85 beta with all the cumulative problems from v83 plus a lot of new ones. So, the v85 final version release will get with ALL THE PROBLEMS again?, so again a useless v85 beta. How many more NEW VERSIONS untill we get PSEUDO USABLE version like it was v80 and v81?.
