Air link cancels casting to webpage

I've been able to do this until recently. i would start airlink and double tap my headset to switch to passthrough. in passthrough i could go to the menu and into casting and select cast to webpage.

However recently this changed and now when i double tap my headset i go to passthrough but just have a message to say my airlink is still running in the background but i cant get into the casting page now because of this message.

if i start the cast first and then go into the option to airlink when i select airlink a message is displayed stating it will stop my casting.

i've been doing this for a while so everything is still setup the same (on same network, pc connected to router by ethernet etc) so i'm guessing it can only be something with the latest update, but i just cant get the casting to webpage working while in airlink anymore/

Hello there, thank you for bringing your casting issue to our attention. Please take a look at some of the steps below to best optimize your casting experience. We would suggest trying to cast on another platform if available.

If you're casting to a PC through Meta Quest Link:

    • Make sure that you've set up Meta Quest Link on your PC, and your PC is on and connected to the same network.
If your headset won't connect to your Wi-Fi network, use the RouteThis Helps app to help identify any issues with your network.

If you are unable to cast to a web browser:

    • Make sure that you're logged in with the same account on your browser. You can log in at oculus.com/casting.

Some known issues that could affect casting:

    • Certain mesh networks and corporate or certificate-based networks may not support casting due to blocks for security purposes. These blocks are common on home guest networks, corporate and commercial networks (e.g. at a hotel or airport), and some cellular tethering systems. If you can't connect your casting device and headset to each other, please try a different network.
    • TVs with built-in Chromecast or other smart functionality may be supported, but compatibility isn't guaranteed with all models.
    • You may experience issues when casting and recording simultaneously.
    • Casting may increase battery usage or degrade in-app performance.

Same issue. It casts fine until I open air link and then I get a pop up saying it will be disabled.

  • All done.
PC + Quest connected on same network and Air link works fine.
Its a home network so no coorporate security issues.
Just get a pop up saying that casting will be stopped when I enable air link.

Basically, you can't cast and stream using AirLink at the same time. It seems to be by design 🤷‍♂️.

Thanks for info. Was sure that I had previously but thinking back, it was with HTC Focus Vision.

Its a useful feature they should implement.
