Factory Reset Oculus Quest 2

Hello, New here to everything related to VR.. & the Oculus Quest 2. I recently purchased a Quest 2 from a co-worker. Thought it made more sense to buy it pew-owned than to purchase it brand new, since I was giving it as a gift to my daughter for Christmas. Well, the person I purchased it from never deleted their account off of the device. So, when I got it all set up (or so I thought)... I made an account for my daughter on the app. I then tried to link the headset to the account I had made, but every time I would try to pair the headset to the app, it would always come back with an error, saying it couldn't pair the device. So,  we are on the original owners account, and since we were on the previous owners account when it turns on.... we figured out we could go into the account settings and "shared" the device with my daughters meta account, so she could play a some games, until we could figure out how to pair the device to her account..... I need help trying to get the original owners account information off of the Oculus, so we can set it up under our information so we are able to use the oculus to its full potential, b/c as of right now there is a limited things that we are able to do.I again am new to doing anything in regards Any help would be greatly appreciated. *single mom on the struggle bus, just trying to figure this out, so my daughter can play her new system to its maximum potential* PLEASE SOMEONE HELP MEEEE! or I am very certain my next reach out will be an SOS, due to the emotional roller-coaster of a typical pre-teen!!  LMAO

Thank you in advance!!

When I do this it shows a android robot and says no command I’m trying to reset because I tried to switch controllers with my brother but I can’t get into his meta quest app and now his controllers won’t connect whatsoever

Hey there, 420weebgamer! We recognize how dismaying not being able to properly factory reset your headset can be, so we wanted to pop in to provide some insight! By the way, that "No Command" screen usually indicates that the factory reset process is being completed incorrectly. To remedy this, we can recommend being sure to hold the volume down button (-) and the power button on your headset at the same time. We also suggest holding both of these buttons down together for about 60 seconds until that boot options screen comes on. Go ahead and give this factory reset another try with these suggestions and let us know how that goes for you! Here are the steps to do so (also found here😞

  1. Turn off your headset.
  2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
  3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
  4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

Hello there! You can reinstall the games you had before as long as your cloud backup was on.

We are all mad here.
