Hand tracking stops working after a few seconds!

So, I used to have hand tracking on my Quest 3. I’ve only had it about 3 weeks. Hand tracking stops working after a few seconds. I double tap, see my hands after putting down the controllers, but then after a few seconds, my hands just go to my sides. I then have to pick up the controllers to get everything working. I’ve also noticed lately that in games like VR chat, my quest seems to lose tracking of my controllers, trying to switch to Hands, which doesn’t work really well either.  I usually have to shake the controllers to get everything back working. I’m in a well room, there’s no small lights, and there’s no reflections. In fact, I’ve only used it in the same room, and this is the room where hand tracking used to work. I’ve cleaned all my cameras. I just don’t know what else to do. I’ve also restarted my quest, turn off and then back on the hand and body tracking, but still nothing. I get Hands up for one second and then it turns off and my hands go to the side of my character until I pick up the controllers.

    Hey SoraLoveheart

Thanks for posting your tracking situation on the community forum. We definitely want to get this working for you again, so you can have a smooth experience when gaming in the Metaverse, so we've got some tips for you!

First, make sure the tracking is turned on correctly:

    1. Click on quick settings (Clock) in the universal menu
    2. Select Settings
    3. Select Movement Tracking
    4. Locate Headset Tracking
    5. Make sure Headset Tracking is enabled

    Clearing your boundary history:

    1. Press the Meta logo on your right controller
    2. Click on quick settings (Clock) in the universal menu
    3. Select Settings
    4. Select Environment setup
    5. Select Boundary
    6. Locate Clear boundary history and click clear
    7. Redraw your guardian boundaries by selecting create new boundary from the boundary settings menu

    Reboot the headset:

    1. Hold the power button down for 30 seconds on the device. A restart is a little different so turning the headset off is recommended over just restarting

This should solve your tracking situation, however if you still require assistance after completing all of the above, please don't hesitate to reach out to us via a private message so we can have a closer look for you.
