Is sharing games/apps broken now?
Hi everyone, I am having weird issues while sharing apps.
Here are the details first:
-Headset: Quest 2
-Firmware version: v79.0 (5171691.66900.150) from July 7th
I updated the headset to the latest available firmware and then I performed a factory reset.
Then, I set up my account as the main owner, enabled app sharing and added my brother's profile (adult) as secondary account.
- Issue #1:
My brother is only able to see around third of my library under "shared" apps.
Some of the missing apps are:
Beat Saber
Demeo
A Fisherman's Tale 1 and 2
ForeVR Darts and Cornhole
Down the Rabbit Hole
Pistol Whip
Blade & Sorcery
Bonelab
Warplanes WW1 and WW2
Resident Evil 4
Les Mills Body Combat
Asgard's Wrath 2
Moss 1 and 2
Red Matter 1 and 2
All 3 Vader's games
Walking Dead 1 (whereas Walking Dead 2 is shown as shared)
Puzzling Places
Ragnarock
Synth Riders
Vermillion
Painting VR
Eleven Table Tennis (whereas Eleven Pickleball is shown as shared)
And many many many more.
When entering the Store page of one of these shared apps, my brother can see the price and when clicking on it, the option to buy it. Yet, in the same page, there's is message saying "This app is being shared with you, go check your library" but nothing happens when clicking right there.
So far I've tried:
-Disabling app sharing and re-activate it again.
-Delete my brother's account and adding it back again.
-Another factory reset.
-In Bootloader mode, selecting "sideload update" and try to update the device using Meta's official tool on their website (I get the message saying that they are already fully updated)
I know that not all apps allow family sharing, but for sure many of the ones I've mentioned can be shared.
- Issue #2:
If I am using my profile, I can see the new menus with the new style.
If I switch to my brother's profile, it still shows the old menus style.
- Issue #3:
If I use a PIN for my profile, when I turn the headset on, the only option available is to enter my PIN. So my brother would need to know my PIN to use the headset (what a nonsense...)
If I delete my PIN, when I turn the headset on, it always starts directly with my profile, it won't give the option to choose the user, so my brother has to manually switch users from my profile.
As for the apps that are showing in my brother's profile as shared, they work perfectly fine. We can even play multiplayer.
Hope that anyone can shed some light on the matter.
