My meta quest 2 wont turn off.

So my Meta Quest 2 every time it dies or turns off  the light blinks white and when you look in the screen its not fully black (i don't know how to explain it) but you can tell its not off so I need help on what to do

  • That happens to mine too. Not every time tho. When I hold button to auto turn off or select power off from menu it does the usual power down routine but the screens backlight it still on as the background is a very very dark grey plus if my Bobo battery is still attached it does not show charging which is a dead giveaway that its still on. I then have to hold the power button down for a while and it will turn off or maybe if held too long turn back on so watch out for  that. In the past the headset has restarted even with a standard power off. It really is time Meta just take a breath and just fix all the bugs as there are loads and they keep comming.

      I fixed it, I think, bc I updated the software and it turned off completely so do that

    Reset your headset by performing a hard reboot:

    • Hold down the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds, or until boot screen loads on the headset.
    • Use volume buttons to scroll to Boot device and select it using the power button.

    If a hard reboot does not fix your issue, try updating the headset using the software update tool.

      i have the exact same problem when i try to power my quest 2 off.. the power light blinks white screens are black but still on i can also hear the audio is still on while all of the above is happening..... FIX PLEASE!!!! TRIED THE HARD REBOOT DID NOT FIX IT... USED THE SOFTWARE UPDATE TOOL. ALL UP TO DATE... STILL NO FIX!!!!

  • I also have the exact same problem on my Quest 2. It only started happening with the latest OS software update.

    Most Quest 2 users are currently experiencing the same issue - the headset does not turn off. All of my friends who own a Quest 2 are facing this problem, and I’ve seen numerous posts about it here and on Reddit. Suggesting to hold the power button is not a proper solution, as it does not address the root problem: the headset simply isn’t turning off.

    This issue has been occurring since version 77. My headset is currently on version 79.1032 PTC, and the issue still persists. I understand that causing damage to the headset and its battery might be in Meta’s interest - as it could force users to purchase new devices - but I have to ask: will this power-off issue ever be fixed, or are you planning to leave the Quest 2 like this and discontinue it soon?
