New Firmware Broke 3rd Party link Cables

ok so after the new firmware update 3rd party link cables disconnect and reconnect rapidly like in the reddit video. i have the same cable i had one for probably 2 years with no issues then one day it just died so i ordered a back up when i ordered the new one so i have the one i have been using with no issues and a brand new charge and play link cable both are now showing the same issue as in the video i get a rapid connect and disconnect from my pc. That reddit post is a day old and already has 100plus upvotes and comments of people having similar issues. That is also not the only post showing this new issue. I understand that meta doesnt support 3rd party cables or devices blah blah blah. When hundreds of users use a charge adapter or cable you dont make it not work one day. Tesla isnt goin to disable charging using an adapter at a power station cause they want you to use their car. I tried talking to chat but they sent me here to make a post so maybe a dev can see it and do something if you need any info or other tests done im happy to help i have both meta brand link cable and charger and 3rd party cables so i have confirmed that it doesnt happen with the link cable it is only happening with charge and play cables. My reason for using a charge and play cable is all the melted ports ive seen. That amount of heat is due to pushing large amps into the device to bring voltage back up to battery norm once norm battery is reached it trickle charges amperage into the device to keep it at full. That huge pull from low to high is what causes all these melting port issues so i have always kept my quest full be that with a battery pack that pushes enough power or a link charge cable with the meta charger plugged into it. Again if there is any way i can help i would be happy to test or sign up to be in a beta program testing pcvr specifically not the meta worlds crap lol.
i just posted this big blurb on the reddit post in response to the op hopefully it will help you as well.
ok so i wanted to go fly so i figured what could it hurt to try right.....so i used https://www.meta.com/help/quest/software_update/ it wanted a connection to the q3 while it was in sideload mode. the white charge cable that came with the quest wasnt showing up but when i plugged in the 3rd party cable with no charger attached i got stable connection again. So i installed the firmware it offered being the same v79 but this time when it came on it connected to the pc fine so i plugged in power to the cable and tested vr and got a link and started condor 3 was able to get into glider and fly so thought ok maybe this is a solution lets unplug and see if it all still works on a fresh connection.....heres where things get weird if i leave the power plugged into the cable and plug it into the quest dingdingdingding over and over with what seems like no end, but if i remove power from the 3rd party cable plug it in i get a few dings sometimes 3 sometimes 5 or 6 but it stops and gets a connection..... if i then apply power it keeps connection and says charging. im thinking that with the power disconnected the quest is draining whatever circuitry is in the charge plug in section of the cable and once its drained it makes a connection. once the connection is made power can be reapplied. try this connection method and let me know what you get and if that doesnt work try reinstalling firmware idk why but now i can get a connection and go play
