Oculus Quest safety instructions: The video at the end of the setup does not play

Can I somehow skip the setup? The setup was attempted with 4 phones: 2 Android and 2 Apple. It didn’t work with any of the phones. I have also reset the Oculus Quest multiple times and re-downloaded the app, but so far, no fix has worked. I haven't found any answers in the community either.

can someone help.

Thank you

  • I managed to solve my issue with the Oculus Quest by using an older version of the app: 176.0.0.10.110. This version works perfectly fine for me since I only use the app for PC streaming. For my needs, this is more than sufficient.

I had the same problem, and I managed to solve it by using an older version of the Meta Quest/Horizon app (version 176.0.0.10.110). I don't play VR games through the Oculus Quest app; instead, I use a PC application in VR. For this, logging into the Quest with the older version of the app was sufficient.

  • The same Problem, the support wasn't really helpfull until now.

  • You will need to download an older app version like com.oculus.twilight_227.0.0.6.52xxxxxxx for your phone (I don't remember the site to download). Meta stopped the support, they are not willing to help (had about 10 contacts)

But anyway, the quest 1 will not update or let you download games or apps, even the ones made for it.

I think Quest 1 is dead and no more useable 😞 despite the info from Meta that it will still work.

Mine was working till last Saturday then stopped

If downloading games and apps works, please inform us as I already found several people with the same problem

Edit: there is one tip I got ... create a second account and use the sharing function. He said it worked then, but this is just a silly workaround no real solution

App Sharing worked for me too. Thanks for the edit. Even if its a "silly" workaround it worked.

Go to your browser and put in meta quest APK and you'll see the difference in the files. I went to 176.0 apk

  • How does App Sharing work for you? I purchased a few apps on account "A" that I would like to use. I I create a new Account "B", I would need to buy them again to then share them with "A".

This is ridicoulous. Meta, stop bricking our devices.

I‘ve got both accounts on my Quest1. I purchased an app within account A, enabled App-Sharing in the settings. Switching to account B and downloaded there. Works well so far. I didn‘t purchased a 2nd time 🙂

I finally got mine to get past the update 1 of 2 it's been a problem for over 6 months. It wouldn't play the safety video at first so I uninstalled and installed an APK or an older version from the browser store. Next the safety video will continue itself...trust me it took a while but it works

  • Had the same issue, tried several older versions. This version works: 283.0.0.12.109. Once you open the app, keep ignoring prompts about outdated version. Proceed to Headsets, Headset Settings, Proceed Setup.

  • The Link an discription worked for me. I needed to enable the developer mode on my android to be able to install the apk (older meta app version).
