Comming in a big black box without touch controllers.
Right now I want to connect it into my PC,  but I dont know how to do that. There is no instruction and drivers on a meta site. Maybe they hidden from a customers?

  • Meta were on a renaming spree, so it got a little more confusing.

The software you want is the Oculus Desktop App, which is here: https://www.oculus.com/download_app/?id=1582076955407037

The website calls it the Meta Quest App, but the same program handles all headsets (Rift CV1, Rift-S, and Quests using Link/Airlink).

It's been a LONG time since I've set up a Rift CV1 without Touch controllers, so I don't know if things have changed. Back then the CV1 came with an XBox controller and a little remote (I really liked the remote, it was handy). I think you'll need one of those to finish the setup. But as I said, been a while since I tried. 🙂

In case you do decide to get Touch later (most VR games these days need them), the CV1 isn't compatible with any motion controller besides the CV1 Touch. The controllers from Quests don't work with it. So finding them is rather hard these days.

Sure, you're correct... I just got one last week but finding it very difficult to install, although I have installed it but keeps saying  UPDATE GRAPHIC CARD DRIVER on my system which I have downloaded so many of it but yet no way ... Right now am very tired of it

  • You need to plug the headset into your graphics card HDMI port and USB port then plug the sensors into your USB ports, set it up with the Occlus Software

I have done all this but yet keep saying UPDATE YOUR GRAPHICS CARD DRIVER

  • I have a problem.

After I reboot  I get HDMI error. Marked like a red label.

I resolve this problem if I unplug and plug USB cable in a different port. Each time I do this is much hard for me.
    I have 2 USB3 port, all other USB2.

Thank you for letting us know that you're using an adapter, makhmudavaev! Could you please let us know if you're encountering the same issue if you remove the adapter from your monitor and connect the headset cable directly to your PC? Could you also please let us know if there is any damage to your cable and provide us with pictures of it?

Hi again! Just checking to see if you still needed assistance. We're here to help!

  • Right now I have a new problem.

Rift connected into HDMI. Monitor connected into VGA.
After I push power up I get a bios picture correctly, win10 start loading, but after loading I get a black screen.
I can connect my monitor via HDMI and everething works fine, exept goggles. I cant connect Rift becaue HDMI port is allready used by monitor. Win10 via VGA show me black screen only.

    I have RX 580 8gb

Issue with Oculus Rift Resolution in Windows Display Settings

I have encountered an issue with my Oculus Rift in Windows 10. The resolution of the Oculus Rift sometimes appears in the list of available resolutions in Windows Display Settings. Occasionally, my computer starts with the Oculus Rift resolution, which is higher than my monitor's resolution. As a result, I see a black screen during startup and cannot change the resolution since nothing is visible.

I would like assistance in removing the Oculus Rift resolution from the list of available resolutions or any guidance on how to resolve this issue. Thank you for your help.
