Hi SpiraTech 🙂
try another brand of rechargeable batteries.
The batteris have different heights, depending on the brand.
I use "Eneloop" and have no issues with disconnecting.

If you are using the compact dock, it uses your batteries, which are not interchangeable with other rechargeable batteries due to the special connection.

As SuperSugrat mentioned the Meta docks come with rechargeable lithium batteries, the issue is with them.
As I mentioned all other standard AA batteries work perfectly and have done for over a year.

I'm having the same issue. I purchased the compact charging dock, which comes with their rechargeable batteries, and I've had nothing but issues with them. It will stop working during a gaming session, and I have to open the cover, pull it down from the connector, so that it powers the controller back up.
The batteries are charged correctly as they report 100% power when playing.

I've not had any issues using rechargable Duracell 2500mAh HR6 Ni-MH AA batteries with the Quest 3 touch controllers. You could try putting a bit of aluminium foil between the battery and +ve contact in case the battery is not making good electrical contact.

Yeah, I've tried a small steel washer on the positive contact but the issue still happens, which makes me feel that it's internal to these Meta batteries or something else. It might be the small pogo spring contacts under the battery.
