Forum Discussion
Hey there,
We saw your post on the community forum and wanted to lend a hand!
Experiencing issues with the right controller not working as intended can be far from ideal, especially when you've just got home after a very long day and all you're looking forward to doing would be to0 sit down and relax while enjoying your favorite games through the Metaverse. We would love to provide you with a few troubleshooting steps that can solve this issue, please follow the steps below as we would greatly appreciate it:
1. We would recommend unpairing and repairing the controller:
To pair:
- Make sure that your headset is turned on, then open the Meta Horizon mobile app on your phone.
- On your phone, open the Meta Horizon app.
- Tap Menu at the top of your Horizon Feed.
- Tap Devices.
- Select the headset that you want to pair controllers to.
- Tap Headset settings, then tap Controllers.
- Tap Pair new controller.
- Choose which controller you'd like to pair.
- Press and hold the Meta button/ Oculus button and B button on your right controller or Menu button and Y button on your left controller until the controller LED blinks and then lights up to finalise the pairing.
To unpair:
- Make sure that your headset is turned on, then open the Meta Horizon mobile app on your phone.
- On your phone, open the Meta Horizon app.
- Tap Menu at the top of your Horizon Feed.
- Tap Devices.
- Select the headset that you want to unpair controllers from.
- Tap Headset settings, then tap Controllers.
- Tap the controller that you want to unpair, then tap Unpair controller.

Hey there,
Thanks for getting back to us!
As you've mentioned the above steps haven't been successful so what we will do is provide you with a few more troubleshooting steps we would like you to attempt, please follow the steps below:
1. Clean the controller with a non-abrasive anti-bacterial wipe (No alcohol).
- Compressed air can be used to remove debris inside the controller
2. Remove unsupported third-party accessories that may affect button motion or controller detection. For example: controller covers, controller attachments, etc.
3. Remove the battery from the controller for 30 seconds. Try a new battery. (Not applicable for Meta Quest Pro)

This might seem like a strange solution, but try disabling the option: Settings->Link->Remote Desktop->"Suggest to connect", as a couple of users reported that this setting apparently can cause the IR lights in the headset to stop working if it is enabled.
However, I don't think it will be your issue, because only one of your controllers is affected.
