can't pair Quest 3 with meta app on phone

1, Quest link to wifi

2, iphone link to wifi

3,found quest

4,input pair code in setting -> about

5,fail

  • Hey, thanks for the quick reply.

Update: I resolved the issue by turning bluetooth on within the headset.

It was already on the same wifi network and all app permissions were already granted.

So to anyone who finds themselves unable to pair with the app: be sure to check that bluetooth connection is on in the headset as well.

    Hey dingzhen765,

Can you give us a little more detail around what is happening. For example, is it a new Quest 3 or have you recently factory reset the device?

Are you getting an endless buffering loop or error message?

    Thanks in advance.

      Hi there Leannejdasilva,

We noticed your post and would love to lend a hand!

Here are a few things to check and try out:

1.Ensure the phone is compatible with the Meta Horizon mobile app

      2. Ensure the mobile app and headset are on the latest available version

The latest version of the mobile app can be found downloaded from:

      Google Play

      Apple App Store

Check the release notes to see the latest version of the headset software. Compare it to what you have installed.

If are having trouble installing the latest headset software try use the software update tool.

      3. Ensure phone and headset are connected to the same network, on the same frequency

      4. Ensure that "precise location" and "nearby devices" permissions are allowed for the Meta Horizon mobile app by checking the phone's settings

      5. Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect communication (such as headset covers, etc.)

If you are still having issues please send us a private message, so we can look into it further!
