Hey Facekick48! We are thrilled to hear you have become a part of our VR family, even if it's been a rocky start. We would love to help you power up your controllers. We would be happy to help you troubleshoot your controllers and provide any other information to help with this. We totally understand that the controllers working properly is a critical part of the VR experience. Let's go ahead and start out with some basic troubleshooting.
Please try the following steps:
- Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect power, battery fit, or controller detection (such as rechargeable grips, controller covers, etc.).
- Switch the battery on the controller and check the LED status (blinking, solid, or no light at all).
If a blinking or solid light appears:
- Unpair and pair the controller again to the headset.
- If the pairing does not work, please let us know.
Also, if no light appears, send us a message to let us know, so we can look into further options. We look forward to hearing back from you!

I have no 3rd party items, as I said before, I used it once just to make sure it all worked, and the batteries are brand new, I'm not seeing any light at all

Okay, thank you for letting us know! Making sure every avenue is explored to get this power issue with your controllers taken care of is our top priority, so we'd like to get a bit more clarification on this situation. Please clarify the following points when you get a chance:
- Is your headset and Meta Quest mobile app full up to date with the latest software (to check for a headset update, please use these steps.)
- Is your headset fully charged when you are pairing? What color is the LED on the headset when it is plugged up?
- Are your controllers vibrating at all?
- How long has it been exactly since you've last played with these controllers?

Let’s be real, your products are junk and you need sued like Apple did over the lightning cables so third parties can make competitor controllers.
i have been through literally 3 sets of controllers and three headsets ALL broken with in a year.
You design this junk to break and I sincerely regret not buying my children the valve made competitor because you guys couldn’t have designed this junk to be more fragile if you tried.
ALSO another HUGE potential safety issue is your meta quest 3 constantly resets the boundaries based of some delusional scan it automatically does in the process over riding my user created ones. That’s gonna get someone seriously hurt cause this junk goes through walls tvs and everything.
I hope your negligence bankrupts you

i am having the same issue. I tried to factory reset like suggested and now im stuck on the untab the battery in the controller screen
- MetaStoreHelpCommunity Manager
Hey again, MrFLUFFYFox, we have not heard from you about this, but we did want to point out that the "untab battery" screen will move on after a few minutes, and go to a controller pairing screen. You can also try removing the battery, and placing it back in, as this should have the same result as removing the tabs.
We also have not heard from you, Facekick48, and we hope all is well! We would love to know if a Factory Reset of the controllers themselves changes anything.
If either of you are still needing assistance, please let us know from our Profile Page, and we would love to assist however we can!

I’m having the same exact issue. Only used my Quest 3 2 times and now both controllers will not even turn on after brand new batteries put in. Headset totally charged and updated. This is ridiculous.

I am having the same problem, also!

Hi there, TheSaxman8593! Making sure your Quest 3 controllers are working in tip-top shape is absolutely a top priority for us, so we'd be glad to lend a hand here. To make sure we have a full grasp of the issue you're running into, could you let us know if the controllers have been experiencing this issue since you first got them out of the box? Aside from that, we highly recommend trying out the previous troubleshooting steps we sent in this thread if you haven't already. From there, please attempt a factory reset on both controllers:
- Use the correct button combination to start the factory reset process.
- Right: Hold the A button and tap the Home (Meta logo) button 5 times.
- Left: Hold the X button and tap the Menu button 5 times.
- The LED will blink orange/white while the factory reset is being performed.
- The LED will then change to light blue during boot.
- Controllers can be used again as normal once boot completes.
Take all the time you need with that, and let us know if anything changes!
- Use the correct button combination to start the factory reset process.

I am experiencing a persistent issue with the left controller during gameplay. Initially, I suspected a battery problem and replaced it, but the issue persisted. I then followed the recommended troubleshooting steps, including removing and reinserting the battery, restarting the headset, and unpairing and repairing the controller through the Meta app. Despite these efforts, the left controller lacks the light indicator present on the right controller. Furthermore, there are no accessories attached to the controller, and it has not encountered any physical impacts, such as bumping into walls.

Same issue here. No power to controllers. Played it 4 or 5 times and then it sat for a couple of months. Put in fresh batteries but the controllers won’t power up. Tried more new batteries - same thing. Can’t factory reset or re-pair (already unpaired) because it doesn’t appear like there is any power to the controllers. Help help help - not ready to throw in the towel and spend a couple hundred bucks on replacing controllers that haven’t made it a year….. thanks!

Hey 22Iowa! If you bought your controllers new less than a year ago, you'll probably be able to get a warranty replacement! You should reach out directly to support🍒

Hey 22Iowa!
