Hey there, friend! We hope you're having a great Saturday. Let's work together to get your right controller back up and running!

We will go ahead and lay out steps we will work on together:

    • Press any button to wake the controller while using Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest.
    • While you have your headset on, press and hold the Oculus button to reorient the controller.
    • Remove the battery and place it back into your Touch controller.
    • Unpair and re-pair your controllers:
      • To unpair your controllers:
        1.  Open the Meta Quest app on your phone
        2. Tap Devices in the bottom menu
        3. Tap the headset you currently have paired
        4. Tap Controllers, then tap the controller that you want to unpair.
        5. Tap Unpair Controller. [ At this time we advise for you to also take out the batteries of your controller, this will help also in a way reset your controllers]
      • To re-pair your controllers: Once you have unpaired your controllers please follow steps 1- 4 again.
        1. Press and hold and buttons on your right controller or and on your left controller until the controller LED blinks and then lights up to finalize the pairing.

If you're still experiencing issues with your right controller, rest assured we will still be here for you. Also keep in mind if your Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest controller LED does not light up, you may need to replace the controller battery. Always here to help!

Hello, I tried doing all of this to pair my right controller but now it won’t pair at all even when holding the buttons. After waiting more than a half hour without the battery in it and resetting it. What else can I do to fix my controller and get it to work? Thank you

        • Replace the battery with a new one.
        • Uninstall the mobile app and reinstall

This is so frustrating. I’ve tried three different right controllers (yes, I bought several backups because of previous issues), and they all are having pairing issues with my device. Occasionally, I can get one of them to work if I continuously pair and unpair. I’ve had to skip workouts multiple times because these products are garbage.

I have done everything, replace batteries, factory reset, everything, but it won’t pair. It lights up 3 times but doesn’t vibrate I even tried holding the 2 buttons for 5 minutes and still nothing. I’m on the old oculus quest 2 not meta quest 2. Is there anyway this can be fixed.

Hi there RylanTheGod120, We see you are having some issues with the Quest 2 Touch Controllers. Not having a device work as intended can be very inconvenient, and we would love to assist you as much as we can with figuring out the controller issue.

Here are some troubleshooting steps we would like you to try:

        • Remove the batteries for 15 minutes or more to reset the firmware.
        • Make sure there are no reflective surfaces around, and check to see if the room is well lit for the headset to pick up the surroundings.
        • Hard reboot the headset to get rid of any kinks it may have:
          1. Hold down the power button until you see the shutdown button.
          2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
          3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Boot Device and press the power button.
          4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

Let us know how this goes. We hope to hear from you soon!

Hello, I have tried all of these things and it still will not work. It started with my right controller randomly not working, it isn’t the batteries, I’ve restarted the headset multiple times, and tried unpairing it. It still did not work. Now whenever I try to re-pair the controller BOTH of the controllers stop working and I have to re pair the left one. The left one still re pairs but the right one does nothing. I hope this makes sense and I hope you can help.

We have been dealing with this for over a year.  Impossible to talk to anyone to get help.  Have done everything they suggested 3 times and still no luck.  They sent us a refurbished head set and still the same thing.  This has been a brutal experience to go thru.  Biggest waste of money!!!  Literally over a year, keep getting the same reply’s and now haven’t heard from them in over 4months.  Purchase a different vr is my suggestion.

Hope this helps anyone with the same issue. First see if your headset is connected to your mobile app (Meta Horizon). If you do, go to the profile icon in the bottom middle then the top right for settings (YOU NEED YOUR HEADSET CONNECTED TO THE MOBILE APP TO PAIR A NEW CONTROLLER) To pair your headset to your phone you will need to factory reset it (only if you don't have it paired already) To do that: Power off your headset, then hold the voulume down and power button. then navigate using the power button as select and the volume as up and down. Once you have factory reset your oculus whilst the headset is on open your app and select the right headset, it should auto detect your headset. Once done (FOR THOSE WHO HAVE IT CONNECTED) Navigate to settings controller remove the old controller then add the new one.
