First impressions after just upgrading to the 6Ghz router:

Maxed out all the settings in Virtual Desktop, absolutely no visual clue that the signal is being streamed via Wi-Fi. The only thing I notice, as someone who has exclusively played wired VR for the last 8 years, is the latency. I had hoped that the latency would be lower than with my 5Ghz router, but it's not really much of a difference. But I got used to it withing minutes.

The big upgrade is the visuals of course, with the 5Ghz router I could run the games at around half the bitrate with occasional hiccups. Now it's buttery smooth.

Bandwith is now 3 times the amount of my 5Ghz router, which is a pretty big upgrade aswell. Wennt from 700 - 800 to 2400 - 2600.

So here is an example of my average results with the
ASUS GT-AX11000 PRO ($319)

Note this is *not* a 6E router, but rather a high-end 6 router, and this works perfectly for Quest 3 at a price around $200 lower than a high end 6E router (like the GT-AXE16000). However, I am extremely pleased with the performance.  As you can see in this "Old Friend" video, on average latency end-to-end is 35-45ms, and is under 50ms 100% of the time, which is generally considered the benchmark.  While I don't have a 2nd video handy, playing HALF LIFE ALYX via SteamVR, I obtained even better results than with the "Old Friend" demo (which used Meta's PCVR protocol), with SteamVR's network latency being as low as 1ms at times, and rarely if ever exceeding 5ms.  At all times in both cases with "worst case scenario" movement, the link stays pegged at 2401mbps.

In the below video, I did a Quest 3 "torture test," which involved rapid squatting up and down (in beat with the music!), violent head shaking, and rapid arm movement, all at the same time as you can see from the video.  Despite this, which is a worse case scenario that exceeds what you do in real gameplay, I was unable to trip up the wifi in any significant way.

To achieve this, I used the tri-band GT-AX11000 PRO router, and manually set it so that Quest 3 had its own 5ghz radio & SSID (5ghz-2), set to 160mhz width starting with channel block 100, AX-only. This basically gives Quest the most bandwidth possible, and best chances of success, at the same link speed as 6E offers, but with the greater range of 5ghz; so I can also use Quest 3 in the room adjacent to the router through a wall without issue.  VD settings are as-pictured, which offer the highest possible quality currently available at 90hz. With this router, if you are not using a mesh you can also use Quest with 5ghz-1 starting at channel block 36 if it works better for your area (will depend on interference).

I stream virtual desktop 200mbit solid and the virtual desktop status screen shows 2401 for the speed.  I only connect the quest 3 to this device and and within 20 feet from the access point.  I wasn't even aware of the bug.

Making a couple more tweaks to my network unrelated to Quest 3 since its working great, but I will report back if the changes cause issues.  Replacing two medium-range RT-AX86U mesh nodes that were relatively close to each other with a single long range GT-AX6000 between them, which should theoretically optimize handoffs while retaining range of of the RT-AX86U.  The RT-AX86U also has baked into its firmware older FCC limits for the lower 5ghz band that results in reduced transmission power, and the GT-AX6000 doesn't have this issue. 

So then will be:

SSID1: 2.4G - Mesh GT-AX11000 PRO + GT-AX6000 (Auto)

SSID2: 5G-1 - Mesh GT-AX11000 PRO + GT-AX6000 (160mhz width / 2400MBPS/ ch36)

SSID3: 5G-2 - Quest 3-exclusive GT-AX11000 PRO (160mhz width / 2400MBPS / AX-only / ch100)

As promised I tested the MR7500. First of all - the Setup is ..... and took me 3 hours (on windows, I couldn´t click on "CA" to get access to the "complete WiFi-Settings - the CA-button was only showing up on my iPad (1h chat with support)" - second problem: I can only set max 80 MHz band width @ 6 GHz.

Now the test results:

1) Half Life Alyx with MR7500 (only 1200 MBps cause of 80 Mhz band width):

MBps is still varying - it´s not stable. Furthermore, there were some stutters which I actually noticed.

On the other router I used before (Asus RT-AXE7800) the MBps were varying as well, but there was no stutter! So the Asus router worked better for me (even though the MBps varied - but I only noticed this when I looked at the VD overview - with the router there are "rarely" stutters.

So, a lot of updates inbound.  Updated headset to v59, updated virtual desktop, updated router firmware, changed my mesh node to improve home performance of devices on 2.4ghz & 5ghz-1 SSID (that the Quest 3 does not use) ,etc. 

I'm not sure what's caused it, but after doing all of the above, my performance has worsened.   I saw someone else say with v59 things got worse from v57, and perhaps that is the case.

Now, instead of 100% locked at 2400mbps, I would say its locked at 2400mbps about 90% of the time and drops to 2161mbps about 10% of the time.  Also, previously my network latency was on average 1-5ms, while now it is more like 3-9ms.
There is still no substantial hitching or anything like that, but objectively worse performance after all of the above.

The one area i noticed network latency tends to actually "spike" (like into yellow on VD, something real high) is during:

* Game loading

* Portions of games that try to autodetect your height (e.g. boneworks calibration at startup)

Ok Guys I tested my new Asus GT ax6000 and it is awesome !! Finally a good router with stable connection and good performance ! Great and easy setup with the settings Ruined mentioned it is perfect! But as Ruined said the v59 version is messing with the connection ! I have a stable 2401 Mbps for 10-15 min and occasionally it gowns down to 2160Mbps but not lower! So it is far better than any other router I tested. And now I can use pcvr without any lags and stutters! But I hope they fix this firmware issue because I think then it will be great on stable 2401Mbps. And compared to 6Ghz there is absolutely no difference and of course it finds the 5ghz instant. I couldn’t find the 6ghz bands with my quest, but now everything works fine! Thanks to Ruined  for the tips and settings. Applied all of them to my router! Greetings 

Ok, since I use it as an AP and only the data traffic to quest 3 runs through it, acceleration and priority settings would probably have no effect on me either I think. That's probably why this mode doesn't exist in AP mode.
