Getting rid of health and safety warning

What is the proper way to get rid of the health and safety warning in Unity?
In OVRDevice.cs, I tired commenting out this:

if (HMD != null && Input.anyKeyDown && HMD.GetHSWDisplayState().Displayed)
HMD.DismissHSWDisplay();

and adding this to the end of Awake():

HMD.DismissHSWDisplay();

But that only works in the Editor but in the standalone version the head tracking stops working and the warning is not removed.

    Is there a way that I can tell if the message is still being shown or not?

    This should work:

    if(OVRDevice.HMD.GetHSWDisplayState().Displayed)
    {
    //message still displayed
    }

    New user and dev here. So how do we get rid of that silly warning when testing debug builds? It's making me sick, literally. And it's against all good practices, I don't want to deal with shit stuck to my face as it's making me feel very very uncomfortable...

    If there's a way to disable this with the Unity integration can someone point me in the right direction?

    I'd like to show the same message in my own way, just not with this crap stuck to a user's face.

    Hi, does anyone know where the text is for the health and safety warning?

    User "Mattiwatti" uploaded an image file "hsw.tga" some time ago and I've used almost that exact text in Live for Speed (but with corrected English). But I just thought I'd have a look in the SDK (0.4.2) for the original, to see if it has changed. But I can't find the file, in 0.4.2 or 0.4.0. So where should we find the text?

    So, it appears to me that it is compulsory to implement a warning, but Oculus do not provide the required text in any format. Is that right? I know that sounds a bit strange, but we are releasing a full version this week and all I have to go on is that hsw.tga file of unknown origin.

    Here is the LFS text. We are about to release this in our full version and announce it to the world, then submit the updated version to Oculus Share. So I hope you see why it's important to check if this is the required text.

    HEALTH & SAFETY WARNING

    Read and follow all warnings and instructions included with the headset before use. The headset should be calibrated for each user. Not for use by children under 7. Stop use if you experience any discomfort or health reactions.

    OK I see nearly this exact text is displayed on the test desk demo scene (which now works on my computer, unlike the version in 0.4.0 but has awful judder - surprising for such a tiny little scene).

    Note : it says at the bottom "Press any key to acknowledge" but pressing any key doesn't do anything. Then after the required minimum 6 seconds it just disappears, even if you don't press a key.

    Strange that for something Oculus claims is so important, they don't even do it right in their own demo!

    The stupidity of the health and safety warning doesn't need to be discussed.
    We all agree.
    It's annoying.
    It's distracting.
    It serves no purpose.
    It's atrociously implemented.
    It detracts from the enjoyment of every VR experience.

    But the most astounding frustration so far is that we are still waiting for Oculus to fix this abomination.

    I chatted with Palmer about this at Connect, and he said they know it's terrible. They rushed it to get it in the new SDK, and they have plans to go in and make it a lot better soon.

    I hope it's fixed/improved sooner then later. I even have an issue on some apps I have been running where the warning will not go away, no matter how many times I throw my keyboard or controller at the wall.
