Beat Saber add-ons not sharing on Quest 2

My husband and I have separate accounts and one Oculus Quest 2. I was able to play Beat Saber we purchased on his account using mine. I just bought a music pack add-on with his account. I went into mine and it's asking me to buy it again. I don't understand why I can play the game but not the add-on. It's a family Oculus and if I want to have my own account to track my own progress outside my husband I should be able to. It's not like we can play the same game together since it's the same Oculus.

Looks like some miscommunication occurred, sorry about that ramzoah and kunoichi-chan. The investigation that was previously mentioned was in relation to app sharing which has since been resolved. Content such as DLCs is intended to not be sharable.

EDIT: Disclaimer, this was marked as Accepted Solution to inform others that the DLCs are intended to not be shareable. There is no fix to this as it is not a bug.

Come on Oculus get your act together... My daughter can't play the Billie Eilish Music pack on her own account.

This is just theft...

I agree that the high cost of the add-ons seems excessive to only allow one user the "privilege" to play with them.  We should be allowed to share with the same accounts that we can share the Beat Saber app.

I bought the Green Day pack on my account (I’m the device owner and an adult)-my son, who is 12 loves them. I thought I’d surprise him and the pack would be on his account when he logged on. Nope. He can’t even use it!! So now, I have to let him mess with my progress on the game letting him use my account to play with the songs he loves. This is ridiculous. Now, I won’t be buying any add on packs. If we can not all use them, I will not buy any. So instead of making money on each pack I would buy, there won’t be any money made. I can not afford to buy the same thing for each account shared on my already outrageously expensive VR.

Sadly did the same thing as everyone else here.

Wify bought lady Gaga on my account and now she’s not able to play them in here’s.

IMO this must be fixed, almost nobody would be willing to buy the same packs twice on the same quest. So basically it’s just forcing people to use one account and loosing out on tracking progress and competition against each other 🤷‍:male_sign:

In 100% agreement that this is ridiculous. I finally got my husband on Beat Saber with the lure of Linkin Park only to find out that he has no access to the add-on. I was going to get the Billie Eilish pack for my son but what’s the point. I’ll save my $ and we can share a Supernatural account instead. At least we can all pick our own songs there.

One would think…if the app can be shared across family accounts—so should the DLC,  This limitation in Beat Saber is a HUGE problem and has totally turned our family’s view of what appears to be a massive heap of garbage.

I’ll wait for Apple’s VR headset.

I think Meta will loose in the end.

Less sold devices when people know this

All the dumb people blaming oculus/meta, this is not a meta/oculus issue. THIS IS A DISTRUBOTOR ISSUE, the music artists like to make money off of songs sold.  Threating oculus/meta/beat saber devs, is a poor crappy tactic.  NEWSFLASH IF YOU HAVE STEAM VR AND HEADSET OR RIFT PCVR OR PSVR YOU CANT SHARE THE APP AND THE DLC.

BEGGER CHOOSERS ON THIS FORUM AND THEY CLOG UP THE WHEELS FOR REAL IDEAS BEING SHARED OR PEOPLE WHO GENUINELY NEED HELP.

So, we know it's the artist, but it's Meta who sells it.

If Oculus allows you to buy it, and they allow 3 counts in the device, then all 3 should be allowed to use it.

Then they have to rase the price.

Why e en compare a bar, with up to even hundreds of visitors, to a device for 3 users?

This has been an ongoing issue with oculus. I've called them about it as we spent over $2K on outfitting our famimily so we could play with the kids. Just keep getting referred back to these forum claiming they "care about customer feedback". This is obviously not an issue they are in any rush to fix since its a problem that costs their customers and makes them money. I don't recommend oculus to anyone who is thinking about buying VR. If we want to play together we have to buy at least 2 copies of every game and 4 copies of any music or app packs. Total scam!

It is unfortunate.  My wife and I have discussed buying a second oculus for head to head play but can’t justify the additional cost of duplicate games and dlc’s.

it seems to me that Facebook and the developers have something to gain by adopting a “family pack” model, garnering more overall sales.

I agree, this is highly annoying and disappointing. I am the primary account holder and I bought 2 music packs one targeted at each of my 2 children. They can’t use them because I purchased them with my account!
