Change default home back to passthrough

I disable auto updates so that I don't have to deal with annoying stuff such as "loft" being turned on and replacing the default passthrough main view. (But of course, this headset auto updates even if I turn off auto updates)

I want to imagine that the virtual worlds on the headset don't exist at all- passthrough, until I open an app or game explicitly.

Latest update I can go into passthrough, but I can't do anything with it, and there's an annoying unclosable popup saying I can go back to the loft at any time... And clicking the oculus button used to open quick settings (RIP easy access, revert the navigator) but now it GOES BACK TO THE LOFT, WHY.

I want to go back to the loft NEVER.

WHO ASKED FOR FORCED SOCIAL FEATURES, forced digital environments? I got the quest 2 and 3 for the hardware, and the software is awful and gets worse each update. WHERE'S MOVE WITH YOU WINDOWS??? Window anchors are useless in passthrough, move with you was actually useful!!!!!!!!!!

Don't use the google/headset icon to go into passthrough.

In the menu, next to the avatar icon, is a "more option" icon. Use this to go into passthrough and you don't have that pop-up and you can go into a game or use the store or whatever you want.

Who are you yelling at? This is the community forum. There are no Meta employees here.

What, they gave up on the PR automated generic responses?

This is the closest place to contacting developers about something that's not a bug report, which doesn't involve going in circles with a minimum wage support agent over email, or even worse, generative AI.

I'm not against a community solution either...

If you want a community solution, stop shouting at people. πŸ˜‰ The headset will auto update after a time even with auto update switched off. As for the other stuff you're just ranting on about things nobody can do anything about. Exactly what solution do you want? The only thing of substance you mentioned was auto updating. I suppose you can switch off your WiFi and never get updates.

This works, thanks

I apologize for ranting a bit as I do find drastic changes to UI/UX like this extremely annoying. This setting is rather confusing, as it's hidden in a menu with a confusing icon to access.

Yeah, I guess it needs some time to get used to it.

I also only got it yesterday and after having the other simple menu for years, this one is a bit confusing.πŸ˜…

ik this is kinda late but this adb command disables navigator for until you reboot your headset: adb shell pm clear com.oculus.vrshell
