Escaping Wonderland

This game appeared on the horizon+ games catalogue recently. I looked forward to playing it because of the reviews. But can't because when I open it up the intro/menu part is constantly spinning around and my controllers aren't even able to click the spinning menu because there's no functionality.

Anyone else getting this or is it just me?

I have a slight issue with my right controller so it's possible it's just me. The thumbstick won't rotate left atm. I've tried the "drift" remedies suggested online but nothing's worked so far, so it might need replacing as it's annoying even if it's not stopped me playing other games.

Firstly, it's a very nice game so let's try to get it working for you. If the controller problem is just with this game, then it's not your controllers. Try this. Uninstall the game. Restart your headset and then reinstall it.. Could have been a faulty download or installation. Let's know how that goes first ✌️🤞🤞

    Hi Fraser586 🙂

I think, your problem is most likely your bad stick drift.....that's why the menu is spinning around.

Also, you don't have to click on the menu buttons, you must "touch" new game or start with the blue balls? which represent your hands.

I bought the game while ago and just tried it on Q3 and Q2, on both headsets it's working without issues.

I have a slight issue with my right controller so it's possible it's just me. The thumbstick won't rotate left atm.

Before you start the game..... put down your right controller, wait until it isn't recognized anymore, then start the game.

You won't be able to play without both controllers, but it might help to find out, if the controller is the cause of the spinning menu.

I just installed the game. It's working perfectly. The problem is on your end.

    Hi guys

Thanks for trying to help. Well I had already tried the uninstall/reinstall trick and that hadn't made a difference. And today after cleaning my right controller thumbstick the other day (and initially still not rotating left when I pushed the thumbstick left), I noticed the thumbstick seemed to be working fine. So I was hopeful going into this game. And low and behold it wasn't spinning. But then I clicked the bottom left button on my left controller to go into the game menu and it goes and starts spinning again. After trying a few things it stopped but I can't get the game to start with the blue balls touching the start button.

    Very frustrating.🤷‍♂️

Get your controller fixed or buy a new one 🤷‍♂️.

    Thanks for your replies.

I'll have a look at that video & try syberia (if it's free).

It is only EW where I can't play it because it's spinning. I have H+ so have played lots of games so it's not like I have only tried a few. The only other game where there's been spinning was Miracle Pool. And that only happened once and not since. But there has been this issue with my right controller's thumbstick not functioning when pushing left (which seems to be functioning again now🤞). Annoying & hampering when you're trying to escape the smasher in After the Fall.😉

It's clearly me and not the game, so if I can't resolve it and want to play EW, I'll have to fork out for a new controller. They're not cheap though.

You don't need a new controller, the thumbstick module can be replaced, either by a repair service as steve_40 suggested or - if you feel confident in doing it yourself - there are videos that shows how to do that.

You can buy the replacements here:

Oh thanks. I didn't realise that (and don't recall seeing Steve mentioned it).

I live in the country though (in the UK), so might need to send it off to be fixed as there's nowhere around here that'll fix it & fixing it myself may be beyond me.

Thanks again. An update: I've managed to start the game. But it did start spinning after 10 minutes again. And the thumbstick not working has come back. I'll may have to get it fixed because the EW looks good. Reminds me of Moss!
