J/k. Hopefully that solves it for some.

😂- Now I need to see if the shadow errors in V-Racer are fixed too, already did complain to the devs...  😁

If my crashes in Lone Echo 2 are fixed, Ready At Dawn should be careful giving thumbs ups inside the game for older drivers...

Strange, but last night I took some tours checking out different asteroids - and when checking out this Manufactoring location I suddenly got a new "Construction Site" sub-quest:

The implication of this is that if I don't check more or less everything, then I may not be able to find and do all the quests. Thus if you just stick to the main missions, there might be (many?) minor objectives you'll never know about.

I do wonder how many such sub-quests the devs have made. Maybe they did it to ensure replayability for all those finishing the game in 6 hours - and then finding out they've missed 15 hours of minor objectives, lol.

Btw, my camera is always ready, found a few more scenic views and some ... stuff...

Takes quite a while finding and activating all those charge stations - and here I'm floating above the rings of Saturn

- and here I'm below the rings - it simply looks amazing in the game - just experiencing the world is a great way to relax in Lone Echo 2

Btw, also found an extremely old friend - maybe some of you have found it too:

Not sure if I can do anything with it though...

There's a few but I'm pretty sure I found them all. There's one very important one that's a bit tricky to find, I will simply say make sure to explore each land mass fully.

I wondered the whole game we we couldn't reach the B habs. I wonder if it was just cut due to time/budget.

Really takes a lot of time doing all the sub-quests. Feels like I've already spent at least 10 - 15 hours in the game, and I'm far from done. But I'm taking it slow - love to float around more or less aimlessly, lol. Also just watching the cargo vessels flying around - amazing to just observe what's going on - the world feels alive, much more than Lone Echo 1 ever did.

I did get caught up in a main mission before I really wanted, now I'm taking some time off for the sub-quests - although I can't help feeling an urge to continue with the main mission, lol.

Any idea how long it took for you to finish the game?

No clue tbh. I played it in so many different sessions, not sure what the total would be.

A minor catastrophe just happened - seems I lost all my save games. After enjoying a perfect 3 hours session yesterday with no crashes, today I got the first crash after 10 minutes - and got a couple more. Thus I thought I'd move the game to my NVMe drive, and normally moving games is not a problem - I've done it many times using the Oculus app.

Unfortunately there're no cloud saves in Lone Echo 2 - and the save games are placed on the drive where the game is installed - under Software\ready-at-dawn-lone-echo-2\_local\saves. I found out the very hard way that all saves get deleted when moving the game. Actually could not even start the game after moving it - so I moved it back to the original drive. Now the game worked again, but all my save games are gone.

So be very careful when reinstalling or moving the game - all saves will be deleted, but you can make a back-up of the save games. Normally save games would be in your local user folder, or in the cloud, I've got no idea why RAD chose their very unfortunate method - making it very cumbersome to just move the game.

RuneSR2  Same thing happened to me with both LE1 and LE2 when I moved them to my SSD drive.  Fortunately I did not have all that much saved and at least I progressed back to where I was pretty quickly.  You'd think that the Oculus move app function would also move your local saves, lol!

Yes, or just not delete the saves, lol.

Great thanks to pyroth309 for sending me his saves, won't have time to test it before later today though.

I do understand that a full uninstall may - in some cases - be able to affect save games, but of course moving a game should not. I have written to RAD about this - they should provide a clear warning of consequences of just moving the game. Also after moving the game it would not start - another strange error, but when moving it back to the original location the game worked.

Btw, I visited RAD's Discord forum, and fun to see that they are positive/helpful toward Revive and more.

I finally got around to starting Lone Echo 2 last night. It's cool to be back in the body of Jack.

One thing that I noticed pretty quickly is that they still don't have Mission ISS style rotation control.

In Mission ISS you can rotate the player by grabbing surfaces with both hands, like would happen in real life. In LE2, you use a thumbstick. Otherwise they both work pretty similar for movement.

I haven't checked the options for an invert yet, but if you enable pitch rotation, it's not flight style (stick forward is pitch down). That throws me off, we're flying around in zero g, my reflex every time is flight style.

(For anybody that hasn't tried it (and doesn't get sick from zero g simulation), give Mission ISS a go. It's free (Rift Store) and lets you explore the International Space Station)

I took the issue about deleted save games to Reddit:

Turns out some dude has already made a 500MB package with 20 saves throughout the game - get it here:

Just tested the save games in the 500MB package. These look clean - thus no activated sub-quests at all. I think the saves cover the entire game - might be a life saver in case of severe crashes. Or just nice with a back-up.

After double checking, I played the entire game on my slower gen 3 2TB NVMe with 3500 read and 3100 write. Thought I had it on my fast drive which is 7000ish to both.

Okay, where to start; first of all I was really looking forward to this game. LE 1 was one of my first experiences and full game I played till the end of it.. So excited to play the game I bought it at release, took some rare spare time and play..... and then.

  • The textures don't load smoothly, just seem to pop-up after looking at it for a while ...
  • Framerate dips really bad when an Oculus Home notification pops up... no way to get back to normal performance.
  • Normal performance??? This game sucks compared to LE 1...
  • Changing settings, like to medium graphics settings and then upping MSAA sometimes crashed it...
  • Sometimes it 'just' crashes.
  • Sometimes framerate collapses out of nowhere...

All of this is immersion-breaking... It's a shame... And, I cannot seem to do a recall in the store. Hadn't played it for an hour... but did buy the combo-package for discount alllthough I had LE 1 already.

It's not a 'cheap' game... It's been in development for a long time... Please get it fixed so I can play this game and go on with the story!

My specs?
Ryzen 5600x

RTX 3070

16 GB RAM

Intel 660p 1TB and Crucial MX500 1 TB store (tried both, doesn't matter)

Absolutely unbelievable. This game has the same stupid BUGSPLAT! errors all over it the first one did. Useless message which gives no troubleshooting hints whatsoever. This time I didn't get it as a 10 dollar deal, so I'm going after a refund.

Yep that was my problem with the first one as well, it was horrible. Many error logs sent in without so much as a hint of a response. No way would I buy Lone Echo II now that this is being so broadly reported. I have had many VR games and a few with VR support added in , and Lone Echo was the only one that did this on my system.
