Referred App keeps showing Invalid Link

I'm currently having a problem on any app referral links. It keeps showing me an Invalid Link page regardless of who send me a referral link. I've already tried unlinking my Meta account out of my Facebook account and have tried using private/incognito browser to accept the referral link. Unfortunately, they still gives me Invalid Link page.

Hello everyone,

I observed that fellow moderator ShiroTenko has responded to a few of you already. However, I wanted to create this post and designate it as a solution to ensure that everyone is aware of the information provided by the engineers. While I understand that this is not a solution, it is the best way to guarantee that all users can easily view the post.

The engineers are evaluating changes to the app referrals program. As a result, some randomly selected groups of users may periodically not be able to access app referrals.

These user groups change frequently, and if an offer is not currently available to you that is available to others, this means that offer is not being given to your group at this time. Please keep an eye out for similar options in your group in the future.

Thank you again to everyone who has reported your experiences during these changes. Your feedback is always important to us.

To be fair it's their service, of course they can decide whatever they want. Totally normal

If you read all of the TOS for affiliate program it's not allowed to post links in internet forums and email lists. It is intended for real life friends only (?).

But I still think it's some other error with the accounts .. because we also have no sales and bundles on the app store. And we can still collect the referer 5 bonus ..

At least they could give us a message if we suspended from referral promotions..

I think they have no idea a what's going on..

I might make myself a new account and gift the games over to my main. I think it his could work

I just purchased Meta Quest 3. Couldn't get 30$ from referral, can't activate any app referral. This makes me sceptical about using their store at all. No store feels like losing a lot of functionality, so might just return the googles, I still have 12 days for that.

What ever device your on restart that device and turn it back on, wait for 5-10 seconds then turn in your device. With this is still happening, get in contact with Meta to see how to solve this problem.

Having the same problem. accepting in browser I get invalid link and on phone it opens the app and nothing

Contacting support doesn't help. They just give following generic response, without clarifying what the "group" is. I can only assume it's "half the world picked at random".

You put me in a group since March 2024 I wasted 12 hours or more and all you folks did was give me the runaround for weeks. I am excluded from getting 25% off from referrals, I could not participate in the March sale, the MAY 30 Sale and now Summerfest2024.

It's not only me but you add people to this group and give them the run around for a few weeks. Your wasting everyone's time. Be decent and honest. Your company will grow. Be deceptive and malicious with false information, will lead to your own downfall. I have been in the IT Industry and like every company who pull similar stunts, will be the end of your fate. By your own hand.

I wonder if they can be sued for false advertising or something - they advertise they have this app referral feature, which clearly is not working for weeks, if at all.

This same thing is currently happening to me. I literally just bought a Quest 3 and now I can't use a single referral link from my friends. This whole thing, especially the "totally not a solution just a pinned message lol" post sounds so incredibly shady. I think they are more or less shutting down the referral program without outright saying it

Well folks this is no surprise. I have started communicating with the developers of some of the top games. They, themselves are completely unaware of this situation. Meta start listening to me. This is going to get bigger and bigger. It is ironic by putting us in a group that these companies, as well as your own profits margins. This issue IS NOT SOLVED. PLEASE REOPEN THIS THREAD. Contact me personally and I can show you the several emails I have received from developers, game studios etc....
