Remote Desktop App is not detecting audio input from headset microphone?

I'm trying to get my Quest 3 headset to work as both an audio input and output through the Remote Desktop app. I am able to hear my PC audio through the headset just fine, but Windows does not detect any voice activity from the headset microphone despite selecting it as the default audio input device. The volume bar is constantly halfway full, as if detecting sound, but nothing is heard in the mic playback or test recording.

I can get the headset microphone to work just fine with Steam VR, but I would prefer to use the Remote Desktop app.
