The New Interface

i come back after a while to use my quest 3 only to find this?

whos brilliant Idea was it at Meta to make a gimmicky interface that looks like its for a phone?

I HATE it.   and apparently there is NO Way to change it back.

the previous interface was WAY better. larger views of your apps and games installed and just a way easier to use interface

this one is bloated with the way the app icons are so spread so far apart a TON of wasted space.

WHY did you change it?

you take one of the ONE things i actually LIKE about meta (i HATE facebook) and basically took a giant dump on it with this horrible horriible forced interface

WHY?

BRING BACK THE OLD INTERFACE!

STOP FORCING UPDATES ON US WITH MAJOR DESIGN CHANGES THAT ONLY the Corporate BIG wigs would actually like!

if the stupid app icons wernt so freaking spaced out so far maybe just MAYBE i could go for it

but there is just WAY TOO MUCH wasted space.

We're just users here, so asking Meta to bring back the old interface on this forum is falling on deaf ears. Nobody from Meta will see it. It's not going to happen.. I've been on the new Navigator since v79, didn't like it at first, but now that I've seen improvements coming all the way up to v2.3 which I'm on  now and looking at the new folder settings coming to v2.4,  I personally wouldn't go back to the old one now. I suppose it's all a matter of taste. Everything changes,  Android and iOS new versions are often huge, and you can't go back to old ones on that either. If you want to rant to Meta, contact the official support team here.

"The Great Interface Upheaval: A Study in Human Distress"

In the vast and ever‑shifting ecosystem of the Meta Community Forums, we encounter a remarkable creature: the Outraged User.

Here, in section after section of the post, we witness its unmistakable call - a booming, resonant cry of displeasure: "I HATE it… this crap… WHO thought this was GOOD?"

Let us watch… quietly… from a safe distance.

Scene 1: The Awakening

After a long period of hibernation, the Outraged User emerges, blinking into the digital sunlight. It approaches its Quest 3, expecting familiar terrain.

But alas - the landscape has changed. The icons have migrated. The interface has molted. The environment is now "gimmicky… like it's for a phone".

Startled, the creature reacts with instinctive alarm, flaring its rhetorical plumage.

Scene 2: The Display Ritual

To assert dominance, the Outraged User performs a dramatic display:

  • Repeating the word WHY in escalating intensity
  • Declaring the interface a "giant dump" upon its habitat
  • Invoking the ancient enemies known only as Corporate BIG wigs

This ritual is both territorial and expressive - a way of signaling to others that the environment has become unsuitable for habitation.

Scene 3: The Lone Voice in the Wilderness

Despite its thunderous cries, the Outraged User is, tragically, calling into a void. A nearby forum elder gently informs it: "No one from Meta will hear you here."

This is a pivotal moment in the life cycle of the species - the realization that its cries echo only among fellow wanderers.

Scene 4: Adaptation or Extinction

Some creatures, like the seasoned Maccyb123, have adapted to the new environment, even thriving in it. They speak of "improvements" and "new folder settings" and even claim they "wouldn't go back".

But our Outraged User is a creature of habit - a specialist, not a generalist. It longs for the old world, where icons were close together and the interface was "WAY better".

Scene 5: The Final Plea

In a last, desperate attempt to restore its habitat, the creature bellows: "BRING BACK THE OLD INTERFACE!"

But nature - and software updates - march ever forward.

Closing Narration

And so, as the sun sets over the Meta forums, we leave the Outraged User where we found it: roaring into the digital savannah, surrounded by vast, empty UI space it did not ask for… yet must now learn to navigate.

For in this ever‑changing technological wilderness, only one truth remains:

Everything updates.

Everything evolves.

And sometimes… the icons get farther apart.

MrGeddings

and apparently there is NO Way to change it back.

Here you go:

If you don't like the new UI of Meta, you can easily change it back to the old one. Thanks to QGO.

Probably just a temporary solution..... I think, the old ui gets removed completely from the software at some point and this won't work anymore.

So, you have to get used to Navigator sooner or later 🙃

Artims.T2021 Read the comments in the thread. We are all just users here like you trying to help with specific headset issues. If you want to rant and complain, contact Meta Support directly.. This isn't that type of forum.  There are no Meta employees here so asking why in the hell you changed it....there is no "you" here.

Here you can contact the "you" who changed it.
