Meta Horizon Link v207 freezes in DCS after 5–15 minutes on Quest 3S via USB

Hello,
I am experiencing a serious wired Quest Link freezing issue with Meta Horizon Link v207.

My setup:

- Meta Quest 3S

- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti

- Wired USB Link

- Meta Horizon Link PC version: 207.0.0.133.434

- Game: DCS World

- OpenXR

The issue:

Meta Link connects normally and DCS initially works correctly.
After I join a multiplayer server and the aircraft finishes loading, the image inside the Quest 3S freezes completely after approximately 5–15 minutes.

The frozen image does not recover. I have to disconnect/reconnect Link and enter VR again.

I have already tested:

- Video Codec: Default

- H.264

- H.265

- Encode bitrate: 300 Mbps

- Encode bitrate: 450 Mbps

- Restarting Oculus/OVR services

- Restarting the PC and headset

H.265 is also unusable on my system because it causes severe stuttering even before launching DCS.

None of these changes fixed the freezing problem.

Important diagnostic information:

I tested the same Quest 3S, the same PC, the same USB cable and the same DCS installation using SteamVR + ALVR over USB, completely bypassing Meta Horizon Link.

DCS works through ALVR/SteamVR without the same Meta Link freeze.

This strongly suggests that the problem is in the current Meta Horizon Link / OVR runtime path rather than DCS, the USB cable or the headset hardware.

The problem started recently. Meta Link was working normally for me before.

Other users are reporting very similar freezing problems with v207.

Please investigate this regression and provide either:

1. A fix for Meta Horizon Link v207, or

2. An official way to roll back to v205 until the issue is fixed.

I can provide logs or additional diagnostic information if required.

Thank you.

Quest 3 wired Link freeze reproduced again in DCS – PC/game continue running

I am experiencing the same Quest Link freezing problem reported by other users.

Today, September 11, 2026, I reproduced it again using DCS World with a CH-47F during a SAR mission on the Germany Cold War map.

The flight was running normally. While approaching the accident site to land, the image inside the Quest 3 suddenly froze. DCS continued running normally on the PC monitor.

My current configuration:

Meta Quest 3 using wired Link

Oculus/OpenXR Runtime 1.207.0

NVIDIA Game Ready Driver 616.92

RTX 4090

Ryzen 7 7800X3D

64 GB RAM

Windows 11

DCS World 2.9.29.27468 MT

The DCS log recorded the following exactly when the headset froze:

XR_SESSION_STATE_FOCUSED -> VISIBLE

VISIBLE -> SYNCHRONIZED

SYNCHRONIZED -> STOPPING

STOPPING -> IDLE

About 10 seconds later:

Device unplugged: Reality Labs Composite XRSP Interface

Device unplugged: Reality Labs Composite Commlib Interface

Device unplugged: Reality Labs Composite Highwind Interface

Device unplugged: USB Composite Device

The physical USB cable was NOT disconnected.

This has happened repeatedly in DCS with different aircraft and missions.

I have also experienced a similar headset freeze while viewing PC VR content outside DCS, while the computer itself continued working normally.

Earlier NVIDIA drivers 616.56 and 616.64 also showed the problem, and it is still occurring with 616.92.

This strongly suggests a failure somewhere in the Meta Link / Oculus Runtime PCVR session or video transport path, possibly interacting with NVIDIA drivers.

Please investigate. Wired PCVR is currently unreliable for me.

MEARON  Ya, a bit of searching MAY help.

Personally, I don't get this 15-20 min freeze issue with msfs2024 with my QPro/rtx5090 using the official meta link cable (or Air Link btw) and nvidia driver 610.47 (DDU in safe mode used to uninstall previous drivers and clear nvidia shader cache).  This my current ODT that has worked well since ~V74.  This ODT works well with both Link and Air Link.  My meta link graphics are set to 80Hz refresh rate with res slider full right.

However, I do get this freeze after ~17 minutes using the latest Virtual Desktop Beta usb3 wired option (but not with its wireless option).  The VD developer says this is a Meta issue but I'm pretty sure that this isn't the case, for me anyway.

Edit; Win11 graphics settings; HAGS disabled (enabled by default) and Game Mode = off.

same issue. apparently its caused by the NVidia drivers. you need to revert the driver back to at least 591.86, that's what i have installed and i haven't had issues since i did that.

best of luck

I'm an amateur at this stuff, so how do you revert the driver back to at least 591.86?

download the driver in the link and install it
