Quest 2 Stuck on Infinite Loading Screen / 3 Dots when Launching PCVR (Link Cable)

Hi everyone,

I'm having a frustrating issue trying to launch PCVR on my Meta Quest 2 using a wired Link connection.

The headset connects to my PC completely fine, and the Meta Horizon PC app recognizes the connection as active and green. However, the moment I actually try to launch the PCVR/Link environment inside the headset, it gets stuck in an infinite loading screen (the endless 3 loading dots) and never actually launches into the desktop home environment.

Here are my system specifications:

- Headset: Meta Quest 2

- Connection Type: Wired Link Cable (USB 3.0)

- PC / Laptop Model: HP Omen 16 Laptop

- Processor (CPU): AMD Ryzen 7

- Dedicated Graphics (GPU): NVIDIA RX6600M

What I have checked so far:

1. The Link cable test in the Meta PC app passes and shows a solid, stable high-speed connection.

2. The Meta Horizon app on the PC is open, updated, and running.

3. Audio/Visual drivers on the PC are technically active.

Because it's just stuck on the endless loading loop inside the headset, I can't access my SteamVR or Oculus library. Has anyone run into this specific loading loop recently and found a definitive fix?

Any help or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated!

I experienced the same exact thing today! Infinite loading into link. Last time this happened the workaround was disabling wifi on your PC until you are loaded into the oculus dash, but that did not work this time sadly :(

Hoping someone will find another solution for this

    Hi amgooboi 🙂

Try the workaround from the link below, it worked already for several people.

ehm... RX6600M is an AMD gpu, not nvidia, it's just a typo or you messed some driver or settings?

NP, just asking, i've got once something alike, was an update reboot not clean, another forced reboot fixed it, have you already tried?

The software is just absolutely screwed up right now, none of the fixes like turning wifi off and on does anything now and I'm getting the Meta Horizon Link isn't working correctly notification every time I launch it, it just straight up refuses to connect to oculus dash, blocking Inbound and Outbound connections in the firewall rules does nothing, reinstalling the software just does nothing, no matter how many times I have tried, has to be over 30 now, Link was working perfectly fine before these updates, they had literally no reason to touch it, yet here we are.

Link v206.0.0.109.432 is working perfectly fine with my PC and Quest 3. Something is wrong on your end.

Have you tried disabling the internal graphics card in Device Manager? Laptops are usually tricky with Link as they have two graphics cards, and Link has no support for handling that, compared to Virtual Desktop or SteamVR.

I still have to double-tap the power button when starting, else it just keeps loading.

Are you kidding? I bet they haven't even tried doing a basic forum search for the solution 🙃.
