The latest updates have rendered Meta Quest PC Link completely unusable. I’ve been having issues with the wired Link connection since early 2026; after about 10 minutes, the headset freezes during gameplay. The only way to get another 10–15 minutes of playtime before it freezes again is to disconnect the USB cable and terminate the OVRServer_x64.exe process. I’ve tried every conceivable fix—some even allowed me to play for an hour—but since I primarily use it for racing games, the current situation makes it pointless.

Since the last update, I can’t even launch a game anymore; the headset freezes while still in the Link app—basically right after I start Link. I haven't been able to use my headset with my PC for over six months now.

With no update providing a solution—and the latest one making it truly unusable—I have to wonder if the people involved know what they’re doing; it’s a disgrace.

I just wanted to share that I had NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver version 617.14 (latest version) installed, and I was getting an issue with the Meta Horizon Link graphics becoming garbled and distorted right after loading up, my taking off my Meta Quest 3S headset and putting my headset back on. Therefore, I uninstalled NVIDIA Driver version 617.14 and installed version 591.59. After that, I was able to load Meta Horizon Link without any issues. I hope that NVIDIA releases a driver that would resolve the issue I was having or that Meta would update Horizon Link to be compatible with NVIDIA Driver 617.14 or later.

NOTE: When I was uninstalling NVIDIA Driver version 617.14 using the Settings app on my Windows 11 Pro (version 25H2), the uninstallation was not finishing even though the progress bar was filled up, so I had to manually close the uninstallation window. If you wish to uninstall NVIDIA Driver in order to rollback to an earlier version, please do so at your own risk.

Something is broken it seems from NVIDIA newer drivers. I did a fresh install of NVIDIA drivers 591.74. Problem solved for me.

I have the same issue. I noticed it started happening when I updated my nVidia drivers to 616.56. I did not try the H265 trick, but I did downgrade my drivers to 581.94 (ones that were recently recommended for 40 series cards and virtual desktop) and I was able to run for 60 minutes with no issues.

Hopefully this gives Meta a lead on what's causing the problem in the first place.
