I use Bigscreen. My friend bought a rift after trying mine out. We use Bigscreen because we use programs like Solidworks, photoshop, 3dsmax during our day jobs. When we can help each other out and show one another certain techniques to get things done, we both load up Bigscreen and use it like a training room. It works out suprisingly well for this. If my brother had the computer or it, I'd buy him a rift so he could use it to help us since he's a photoshop artist and programmer at his job, he'd be able to help us with Photoshop and show us help in PHP in real time if we needed it. I think Bigscreen is valuable in this respect, it's great for watching movies with friends, but it's so much better as a virtual training room where you can meet up remotely.
Can you even see enough detail with photo shop? I gather so. I like it just for chilling out.. To be honest, I do not have many friends other than my wife anymore... Just something that happens as you move about and get older.

If you're just using it to show someone how to do things in it, it works fine. I don't actually do design work with the headset. Even in Virtual Desktop, the res is to low but more importantly I just think it's uncomfortable to do work with it on. For me it's much easier to use an actual monitor for those type of applications.
Booted this up earlier to see if it works with Touch, to my surprise it does and seemingly with full support, works really well.
You can navigate with the pointers and if you press the menu button on the left controller it brings up the Bigscreen UI on your arm and you can interact with it using the right controller, kind of like Medium. Very nice. :)

I'm part of a steam group that uses Bigscreen for social anime watching.
Seems to work pretty good but yeah, the small number of people is a limitation. Shame that there isn't a functional version of Rifmax anymore :(
