Competition is good, we've been a bit lacking in VR options lately.Valve have announced the Steam Frame. It's a mobile headset running on a Snapdragon SOC (similar to Quests). It's also got wireless streaming (with a few interesting tricks) and uses 4 camera inside out tracking with inbuilt IR LED illuminators for dark rooms. Here's the specs. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU (more powerful than the Quest 3 Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2). 16GB ram. Micro sd card slot for up to 1TB storage. Back of the head mounted battery pack. 2160x2160 per eye LCD screens. 72-144Hz refresh. Pancake lenses. 60-70mm IPD 110 degree fov (so similar to Quest 3). Four monochrome IR cameras for inside out tracking and controller tracking. It can do pass through video, but only monochrome. Two eye tracking cameras. IR illuminators to light up dark rooms for tracking. Expansion port (maybe this could do better than USB 2.0? Don't know) Dual wifi 7. One wifi (5GHz) for internet, another separate wifi (6GHz) for streaming video
The wired puck makes the VR Glasses a non-starter for many of us. Some background and intent behind this proposal: Background: The new Meta VR Glasses route all compute through a wired pocket puck. That wire rules out the all-day, grab-and-go use cases where lightweight wearables shine — reading books, watching video, talking to an AI assistant on the move. As designed, it's a binary product: wired computer or nothing. Intent: This isn't anti-puck. It's to make compute placement dynamic instead of fixed — a spectrum that degrades gracefully. The phone is already in everyone's pocket; use it as a fallback brain for light workloads, and keep the puck as dedicated compute for heavy standalone sessions. Proposal: make compute placement dynamic instead of fixed. 1. Audio-first mode, no wire. Glasses should work as standalone audio glasses (AI assistant, audiobooks, calls) with the phone as the brain — like Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 does today. No puck required.2. Async video of
As many may have seen recently, alot of people were rooting their quest pro headsets and, along a long list of other privacy related things, were able to 'unlock' a MUCH better face tracking preset, including individual eye and cheek tracking and an accurate tongue depiction thats more than just the current, out/in, proving the headset is plenty capable for a better, smoother experienceAs many may have also seen, just hours after this root method was released, meta kindly decided to push out update that patched the root, shutting us off from the quite frankly incredible face tracking that we COULD haveThe best part, for any meta devs reading this, you wouldnt have to lift a finger, im certain 90% of the face tracking addon makers would be more than happy to just hand over the software that improved face tracking tenfold, in doing this you would also gain a LOT of consumer goodwill, which in all honesty is needed right now If in case you havent seen anything, example of the h
Hey everyone! I'm one of the new Moderators, and I wanted to say hello. I also want to ask you guys what you're playing as far as competitive multiplayer games. I used to be more of a fan of single player and cooperative gaming experiences, but when I was in high school I started playing Rocket League when it released. This game got me absolutely hooked and it is a game I still play to this day. I think the most rewarding part about these games is seeing the tangible progress you're making compared to other players. I feel like competitive games get a bad wrap because they tend to have more toxic communities than other genres, but for me nothing matches being able to easily measure my progress and compare it to other people. In addition to Rocket League I play a little bit of CS:GO but am not as competitive, and mostly just play with friends. What kind of competitive games are you guys playing? Are there any you would recommend that maybe a lot of peopl
So, after I start up- all I see is pastel clouds- I click on the left menu button to choose a Loft immersion- (Which I've always loved) and nothing- just floating nothingness. Sigh. No living space, no portals- just pink/ blues skies floating. It's rather unsettling.PS I know the difference from the legacy spaces from before. It's only been 3 weeks since I was on.
I recently purchased the meta quest 3s Batman Arkham shadows bundle from Walmart and my headset didn’t come with the Batman game so I went to Walmart and they told me I had to pay for it when I told them I shouldn’t have e to when i purchased the bundle so how do I go about getting the game before December
Meta Quest 3 is undoubtedly a high-quality device, but it has its limitations. I’ve been analyzing for a long time what really needs improvement for us to experience a truly immersive sense of presence in the virtual world.A 110° horizontal FOV is already good enough that we don’t feel like we’re looking through a tunnel. 25 PPD is also sharp enough, at least at closer distances. 90 FPS is perfectly sufficient for smooth and comfortable gameplay. The pancake optics are very sharp, and aside from occasional lens flares, I’m satisfied with the quality. That’s not to say these parameters shouldn’t improve, but they’re no longer the critical factors for a high-quality VR experience. What truly degrades presence, however, are the LCD panels. Blacks appear more like dark gray, and brightness is rather weak. This obviously also affects color richness and accuracy, dramatically reducing the sense of immersion. Even a flagship title like Half-Life: Alyx cannot truly shine. Meta Quest 3 allows so
Meta have announced their VR Glasses (formerly known as Phoenix). 5K mico-OLED panels (2,412 x 2,288) supporting Dolby Vision HDR & IMAX Enhanced certified FOV: 70 deg horizontal, 66 vertical, 88 diag 37 PPD 56-70mm IPD Up to 120Hz Colour passthrough (26 PPD) Separate compute puck 100g for the glasses 300g for the puck 3 hour battery life (media playback) Snapdragon Reality Elite (XR2 Gen 3) Optical link cable (puck to glasses) USB 3.2 (including DP to the puck) 128GB expandable to 1TB via SD card Controllers may be optionally bundled. Pairs with Touch Plus (Quest 3) and will be available in all-black Eye tracking Iris detection Face tracking Hand tracking Phone mirroring BT keyboard, gamepad connection $1,300 not including controllers My take is this would probably be a better match for my Quest 3/Pro, than getting another headset. It would give me a wider use case including my travels and productivity, especially with Windows multi-screen integration, the PPD may be good
Hi Meta Product Team,I am very excited about the announcement of the Muse Charm AI handheld device. However, looking through the current documentation, I cannot find any mention of parental controls or child-safe profiles. Since Muse handles deep system tasks and account integrations, it is currently locked to 18+.I suggest implementing a framework similar to :Child-Safe Core: Allow children to use the Muse AI for learning, creativity, and basic tasks.Remote Permission Requests: If the child tries to link an app, log into a service, or access sensitive data, Muse should pause and send a permission request directly to the parent's phone/Meta Horizon app for instant approval. This feature would make the Muse Charm the ultimate family-friendly AI device. I hope the engineering team considers this before the final holiday rollout!Thank You!
What did you guys think of connect? I was quite excited for this one, initially for the update to Ray Ban Meta but it's actually the VR glasses that I'm most excited for now. The weight could certainly be a game changer, I think straight away that makes it much more viable for casual use. I love VR but it's a bit of a stretch putting it on to say watch a movie, but if it's a case of just picking up these, no straps, little weight, jumping straight into Netflix, great! I couldn't see if the puck was detachable, I'm guessing not. Would be cool if there was a basic soc on board for movie watching without the need for the puck. I like how they VR gaming was reasonably high up the agenda for these too, it was just a little mention. The Snapdragon reality elite is boasting 60% more GPU power, this is getting back to levels of performance uplift that the Quest 3 enjoyed. It would be nice if steam started allowing their ARM proton layer for other headsets, I'm sure that kind of power could be
My vr has this glitch and it says “finding position in room” I’ve factory reseted, I’ve tried EVERYTHING for it just not to work, does anyone know how to fix it because this has been happening for 3-4 weeks
이 경우 어떤방법으로 구입한 게임을 복원 할 수 있습니까?-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I purchased an Oculus Quest and bought several games. After my account switched to Meta, I launched a game for the first time in a while and logged in, but it shows that I have no purchased games. In this case, how can I restore the games I purchased?
While cleaning up the junk closet below the staircase in my house, I came across the box that the CV1 was shipped in. That nice sturdy, black box with rope handle etc. Curious what ya'll did with it, did ya throw it away? keep it for later use when you need to move the Rift? Box for the cat? Ferret home?
I'm starting this discussion because in my country, Meta doesn't sell their products in stores which is frustrating. I don't think this is possible but, I'm leaving here this request to sell Meta Quests on Portugal, I know we can order in online shops and come to our house, which is already an option. I really understand that selling Meta Quests here is hard and maybe not possible, but I really would buy a Meta Quest here in local stores and it's easier too, since I am thinking of buying a headset to enjoy the product. If expanding the list for more countries isn't possible I understand, it's not the end of the world, I can still buy it online, no problem, but I would really like if it's possible to make it true. I deeply apologize if this is inconvenient, and not so nice to ask for, I understand if bringing Meta Quests to other countries specifically my country, Portugal, can't be done. Well, thank you for reading this and I hope I get an answer from Meta.
Hello Meta Team, My name is Stephen *****, inventor from Nairobi, Kenya. I have invented a new Meta phone ecosystem: 1. META BOOK: Focus Foldable - Outer: Large 9-widget focus screen + physical titanium QWERTY + 3 cameras with flash (like iPhone 17 style but 3 in a row) - Inner: Single large screen (like iPad, not double phones) - OS: Outer = 9 focus widgets (time, calendar, messages, notes, camera, calculator, health, settings, clock). Inner = full phone. - Special: 5-second calendar entry, handwriting fonts that convert to text, unified Meta Social inbox. 2. META WEB: Full titanium phone with Side Dynamic Island (titanium strip like web) 3. BREAKTHROUGH FEATURE: Private Ghost Typing Mode - META BOOK pairs with Ray-Ban Meta Glasses - User types on physical keyboard - Text shows ONLY inside glasses (AR), outer screen does NOT show content for 100% privacy. This solves air-typing and privacy problems. I have full designs ready. Requesting
So I’m having trouble because I made a meta account before I put it on my headset, and I need to put my new account on meta horizon but I can’t. So I need to connect my new account on my headset to a new account on the meta horizon app.
Meta support was so nice! i wasn't able to recover my account but they sent me 30 euros in meta cash or whatever its called, and i wanted to get BONELAB and i asked for 10 euros more if it wouldn't be a hassle, and they were so nice!!! (apart Zeke tbh he was just repeating the same thing)
I was wondering if there's any overcharging protection with the rechargeable batteries. Can I let them "charge" in the dock for many days / weeks without any problems? What about the Quest 3 itself? Thanks in advance
Hello Meta Community and Product Team, I would like to start a discussion around a comprehensive product feature proposal designed for the Meta ecosystem (Facebook & Messenger), titled "Meta Spaces: AI-Powered AR Hangouts". This feature directly addresses a core challenge: re-engaging Gen Z and Gen Alpha users by transforming passive scrolling into highly interactive, AI-driven, and immersive social experiences. Brief Overview of the Feature: * What it is: A 3D virtual hangout room generated instantly by Meta AI from simple text prompts (e.g., "Create a cyberpunk Tokyo cafe"). * Engagement: Users join as advanced Avatars or via AR holograms, interacting with friends and an AI Host that suggests games and co-watching activities. * Monetization: Opens brand-new revenue streams through Immersive AR Sponsored Ads and digital asset microtransactions (exclusive virtual decor and branded avatar skins). Below is a baseline concept prototype Python code demonstrating how the AI text-to-envi
I think i speak for everyone when i say we should have the option to turn off the new navigator and return to the old UI with the taskbar. The new navigator is so confusing and laggy to work around, even today its still very clunky. If it aint broke, don't fix it and meta tried to fix it and broke it even more.I think meta should learn from the Windows operating systems as they had the classic start button for decades and when they removed it from windows 8 it caused tonnes of confusion and many users to even downgrade back to windows 7 (i wish i could do the same for my meta quest). Then Microsoft learned from their mistakes and brought the start button back in windows 8.1 and made it better in windows 10.I think meta should do the same

Hello, I’m trying to submit a warranty claim for my Meta Quest 3S. The headset turns on and displays the Meta logo, but then the screen goes black and does not continue loading. I have already tried a factory reset, and the USB update slash recovery options, but the problem remains. When I try to contact Meta Support, the website asks me to verify the serial number, but it keeps rejecting it. I bought the headset at Best Buy on December 18th, 2025, and I have the original receipt. Could a Meta support representative please help me verify the device manually and open a warranty repair or replacement claim? Thank you.
Right before Christmas, I treated myself to a new Quest Pro. When the headset arrived, I was over the moon. I’ve been with Meta since the Oculus days—starting back with the Rift S—so I’d been waiting a long time for this upgrade. But my happiness was short-lived.On the very first night, I discovered that the Menu button on the left controller wasn't working. I looked up some troubleshooting guides which suggested unpairing and re-pairing the controller. That was the final nail in the coffin; the controller died completely and refused to pair back up.The next day, I contacted Meta Support. They replied quickly and authorized an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) for a replacement. On December 29, 2025, the return was officially approved, and the process began.Then... silence. Nothing for half a month. I started messaging them almost daily just to find out what was going on. Eventually, the Meta Support bots started sending me the exact same canned responses: how sorry they are, how
I’m extremely disappointed with the warranty service I purchased for my Meta Quest 3.My understanding when purchasing the warranty was that it would provide protection and service if my device developed a covered problem. However, I’m now being told that the device cannot be repaired and that I must exchange it instead. The problem is that when I attempt to process the exchange, I’m being charged over $100 for the replacement equipment, in addition to a service fee. I’m also being given the option to pay even more if I want extended warranty coverage on the replacement. This leaves me asking: What exactly am I paying for with the warranty I originally purchased?I understand that replacement procedures may be part of the warranty terms, but I don't feel it is reasonable to purchase warranty protection and then be required to pay a significant additional amount simply to receive the replacement for a device that cannot be repaired.I’m asking Meta/the warranty provider to please revie
Meta to pay up to $18bn to settle claims its platforms harm children Social media giant Meta has agreed to a $18bn (£13.3bn) settlement with US states and territories to resolve claims that Facebook and Instagram harmed children. A California judge approved the settlement, which Meta must pay to 48 states, plus the District of Columbia and three US territories, marking the company's largest payment over child safety litigation to date. Meta will also implement a host of changes aimed at better protecting kids online, which the states had demanded, including default daily time limits and night-time blocks. "This is a major moment to clean up an industry that has been hurting our kids", California Attorney General Rob Bonta said. Meta has denied any wrongdoing as part of the settlement and said on Wednesday that the payment it agreed to "will be distributed in annual instalments over a 10-year period". Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers approved the settlement, writing that it "reflects a fair
