Pet´s in AR is yet another potential. First and best is that cat´s and dogs no longer need a itterbox or a long walk to do number two. Second, they aint gonna ruin our furnitures any longer. That will be left for us to do whenever the scare the crap out of us comin crawling on the ceiling falling down into our faces.
But now we can have a crocodile, dinosour or even a xenomorph sleeping on our couch with us, making us comfy at night.
@LZoltowski , maybe it´s just a typo ... They ment to name it vibe, but got just as lazy as with their hmd design ? ... Who knows ?
The guy that made this is called Abishek, he was on BBC Click, a a weekly factual technology programme. Hes a bit of a genius kid maker.

It's not fake, the guy is an actual young genius, he was interviewed on BBC about another AR app experiment he made. Man I wish I was smart :/

It doesn't seem elaborate enough to be fake. The technology to make this happen has existed for at least 2 years, if not longer. For example, using Microsoft HoloLens and their open SDK could accomplish this quite easily.
Technology is at the point to where it would take just as much effort to make a fake AR video as it would take to just make the actual AR application.
Look how the camera is shaking when the she-demon appears on the screen. No way could AR track that perfectly. Then when he runs, and she starts to follow him DOWN THE HALLWAY. No way! AR is just not that smart, and won’t be for a long time.
@cybernettr Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic
You should read up on AR, depth sensing, object occlusion, dynamic lighting extrapolated based on environment, scene mapping, progressive environment memory etc The AR tracking on my iPhone X is scary good, even in bad lighting, and I have worked in Visual Effects ..
He's most likely built up a base mesh of the virtual space to match that of the real-life one, he then uses positional markers to attach the mesh to allow for object occlusion to happen. You can still spot the errors in the tracking where the object kind of floats on the image ...

The occlusion is a dead giveaway (pardon the pun) it’s fake. Occlusion is the hardest thing for AR to master. It’s easy for AR objects to be in front of things, but nearly impossible to be behind real world objects. That would require near perfect knowledge of the topology of whatever room the app might currently be used in, an almost impossible task for current technology.
Dude, this is a 2 yr old technique, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQFkTvEcfpk
