Question

Best budget value PC for Oculus Rift.

Hello,

As the title states, I'm building the best budget friendly PC to have a good experience with the up-coming Oculus Rift (I already Pre-Ordered it). As I've heard the up-coming version will be able to output 90-120 FPS. So I want to take advantage from those FPS and have a PC capable to output them as well.

I've chosen these parts so far, but I'd appreciate any comment, suggestion, etc..

First build has no SSD. You said budget, but it's almost always better to spend a bit more and get the best value rather than the absolute cheapest. An SSD will drastically improve loading times.
Second build has no HDD. While I'd go that way for a VR only PC, you need an HDD if you're also going to use it as an everyday PC.

May not win any awards and I certainly would not buy that combo but it would be interesting to see if it would work!

$681 here! :D I used build number 1 so stuff like RAM and HDD remain unchanged + AMD official guildlines to make sure everything is VR compatible.

Decent looking build (for the price). I still wonder about the CPU, we'll have to see with real world performance.
