DCS 1.2.8 beta, now has rift support

They released an exe replacement that was supposed to fix the broken oculus support, but it wouldn't run according to the couple of people who tried it.

I'm installing DCS World beta now. But 13.7GB downloading at 1Mbit/s is rather slow. (My cable modem can do 100Mbit/s, but the eagle dynamics host for dcs is slow. Only got 1GB after 2.5 hours)

I've got DCS Black Shark and DCS A10. I'm trying to decide if I want to spend $30 on upgrading Black Shark to Black Shark 2, it's better but is it worth $30 for an upgrade?

I'm probly the wrong person to ask, but I looooove DCS I want to have its babies, so in my opinion bs2 is worth it.

Yay, I just woke up and my pc had a dialog saying DCS World Beta had finished installing. :)

The interesting question is: how many hd rifts are there out in the wild? If Eagle Dynamics, a russian flightsim team, have hd, who else does?

I need a new hotas joystick. For DCS A10 the obvious choice is the Thrustmaster Warthog. But for Black Shark, the Logitech G940 would be better, because a force feedback joystick can do the motorised trim control thing the real KA50 has.

DOH virtual aerobatics is still on 1.2.7 sorry

They fixed DK1 support, now we ready to promenade with Oculus Rift DK1 in number of high-quality simulated NATO's and Russian combat aircrafts and helicopters :)

I just tried it.
The cockpit appears wrong (stereo views don't line up right) and I can't get head tracking to turn on.

Is this supposed to work with DCS A10 as well? I installed the visualizer.dll file but now the program crashes if a mission is loaded.

It works now. Just download DCS world 1.2.8 beta and link the A-10 serial to your account on their website. Then download the A10 again via the in-game menu. So the A10 standalone game doesn't work with the Rift, you have to use DCS world.

I've just been trying this out. It's cool, and they have these beautifully realised cockpits. Some of them have fully operational cockpits that you can operate all the little switches using the mouse. You can do all these things with keyboard shortcuts, but it's difficult when you have the Oculus on.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to have any way to zoom in in Oculus mode, which kind of makes it difficult to operate the planes, which is a shame.
