DECENT 3 SOURCE CODE

http://www.descent3.com/downloads.php#software_dev_kit

Here you can get the SDK for DESCENT 3 (D3) if anyone is interested in working on something while they await their kit.

I have already started Oculus integration. Feel free to make your own.

The Site also has quiet a few cool tools you can download to assist you in developing a version of D3.

here is a link to the full source code for Descent 2

Can much be done with that? The page says the sdk is for making multiplayer mods, the access it's headers give to the descent 3 engine itself seem fairly limited.

I should get around to trying Descent 3. I bought it on GOG a while ago, but haven't installed it. If it supports analog axes from direct input then I can control it with my 6dof space pilot pro. :)

all 3 versions of the the game are open source. If you need the full engine I have D1 and D2 full, at home.

I am working through the SDK. I will let you know, or update my post here if I find anything else as well.

Descent 1 (from 1.4a patch) and 2 already supported the VR helmets of that time, so they should already have native support for stereo rendering and head tracking.
